John was a bit of a prima donna by refusing to play the OHM stuff (it aint his band). Also people seem to forget that the RHCP always has been and always be Flea and AK's band. I've been listening to the RHCP now for nearly 21 years and I'm 26! And I'll be one of the first to admit that OHM rocked, it was a ballsy album and Dave helped them out alot, all you Frusciante devotees can fuck off. John's still a great guitarist but in my mind if you don't like Dave or OHM you aint a TRUE chii's fan.

I agree with an original poster. Hillel John and Dave were all different. An interesting way to compare them is through Hendrix...an important influence on the peppers.
Hillel represents the funked out progressive aspect of Hendrix
John represents the smooth melodic side of Hendrix
And Dave represented the hard psychedelic side of Jimi
Jimi was a prophet and they all rock in their own way. Falling Into Grace with Dave on guitar is my fave chillis track, that bass-drums-guitar groove is just so DIRTY :-D

one hot minute wasnt my favorite album but when they r doing songs from blood sugar and mothers milk i dont mind daves guitar playing it adds a more rocked out sound to the songs ......i dig it!

Are you dumb? They got big because of Frusciante not Navrro. Navarro is a great guitarist but he did not and still does not fit the Chili Peppers. BTW their most innovative guitarist was Slovak.
