at competitive and above you are required to shuffle your opponents deck, and cutting isn't listed as an acceptable short cut. this is just extremely difficult to enforce at huge events. and on aside note... judges are ninjas. we try very hard to make sure you don't know when we're watching you.

Hell... I'd punch him for riffle shuffling my deck. What if you were playing with a signature card? Those can be worth hundreds of dollars. I'd never let an opponent shuffle. They can cut as many times as they'd like, but never shuffle.

I had once taught a guy how to play. Because he was still new he didnt know how to cheat correctly. He would look at his next 3 or 4 cards while I was looking at my hand and hed always, and I mean always have 7 cards in his hand. O.o

Simply put, end all this cheating/shuffling/stacked deck nonsense by making every player use the computer game to play in tournaments. Enter the decklist and sideboard into the MTG Online and cut loose.

When you give someone your deck to be CUT or shuffled after you shuffled your deck in the beginning if he does shuffle your deck you are allowed to cut your own deck. Some players will see a card in your deck and shuffle in a way so that its on the bottom.

@higuyimfried Are you dumb you're not allowed to see your opponent's cards,but you can take notes for what to expect in game 2.Seeing your opponent's cards gives such an advantage if you know what you're doing.

The guy was cheating because he was looking at his opponent's deck in game one. I purposely play with black sleeves on a white deck to throw people off. It's against the rules to look through your opponent's deck unless you let them look at it. That's the whole point of the side board and the best two out of three. When playing in game one you want to pull out a surprise. They may think you're playing with a well known construct then surprise them with your own tweek. Like my...

boyfriend took all of the birds out of birds and swords/caw blade before it was illegal and replaced them with Mirran Crusaders because there were so many other Caw Blades running at tournaments and it just was a Jace2.0 race in mirror matches, but when he put in the Crusaders he mowed through the Mirror matches and was able to counter most kill spells with other decks. If someone flipped through his deck illegally it would have thrown a huge advantage for him out the window.
