There is a lot more Christian fanaticism, but its important to recognize that Muslims (who draw on the same religious history as the Jews) have also been very fanatic at times, and have adopted fanatical ideologies. Bin Ladin and the Taliban are two obvious examples. Another is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who calls for Israel to be "wiped off the face of the earth".

As for why the religions that followed are not as fanatical: I disagree. Christians have a long history of violence, and some of the American religious leaders are very fanatical. Just look at Pat Robertson who publicly encouraged the US administration to assassinate Chavez.
