No... my grandmother told me. She was born in Voden (Edessa) and exiled across the border when she was 30 together with my father when he was 6! She told me that her mother (my grand-grandmother) told her that Edessa had no Greek speaking citizen until 1912! Only us, Vlach and some Albanian tribes that mostly lived in the surrounding villages! No history books buddy... no books. I don't know what they tell you and what you read... I don't really care!

And my grandmother did not know what MANU will say...she told me those things while I was young... while we were still a part of Yugoslavia as an independent republic named as Macedonia! By that time the word Macedonia didn't exist in Greece. There was no sign that was saying something about Macedonia. I know because I have traveled the Aegean, Those signs appeared in the late 90's. Even your history books from 1977 had a clear border naming our republic as Macedonia! Check that!

We named them Shiptars (mountain people) as they call themselves, because the whole history the Macedonians lived in cities surrounded by small Albanian villages in the mountains. They used to be sheep farmers! By the way... the first edition will never die, no matter if they change it. There is a torrent of the original pre-printed encyclopedia that we all managed to download... it will never die!
