I think it is not possible to do it without a card? I don't really remember but i saw a vid on youtube in which somebody splittet the cube without a card.

@DangerZoned Anything which is flat and handy and not flimsy, a CD, or a CD case (cut a piece from it), any piece of plastic works well. ^.^

i have been able to split my only a few times, most of the time it crumbles. picked up cube on ebay, Are ebay dots different quality from commercial nano dots, nano cubes ect. My dots are 5mm in size

@BlackLotusStygian yes there are many different types.. you have to specifically go on neocube's web site and follow the link to their ebay.

The reason it crumbles are the pole locations. These spheres are just like bar magnets. After playing for them for a while, the paint will come off, and the poles will look brownish. When you put it in cube form, the brown would be at the top. Split it, and it'll be easy. The reason the spheres attract on a grid, is because they're attracted to the poles on those 2 opposite sides, but there are not poles on all sides, which is what some people believe.... :D

@4apples mythbusters tested it and found out that a sweeping motion of the magnets over the card f**ks it up and if no movement is involved it still may harm the chip

i dont know if im crazy so please somebody do this play with the cube for a couple of hours and see if the tips of your fingers look dirty because mine do and it wont come off i think the magnets attracted the iron in my blood!!!

Only paint on the poles rub off. occasionally, on some spheres, the paint gap spreads....

No. The paint rubs off. Sometimes the iron does, but it wont hurt you. Just don't swallow them. :)

This isn't a way you should try and split the cube, it's cheating a bit and also anyone who is going to try and use a plastic card, DON'T USE YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD, THE MAGNETS WILL FUCK THEM UP :)
