When I open "Mange" on "My Computer" the administrator blocking message pops up. Do you know what this could be? I believe my operating system is Windows Vista Buisness, Thank you. I just Tried your second (I.E. Xp) method and policies shows up as an extention of internet setting (I think) and i cant open it. I just tried the "recover password" method, and the pop up says I do not have administrator rights.

I ran into this issue and I was able to resolve it after quite a while. The problem is with a single registry key entry.

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mi­crosoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\

Delete Key File: taskmgr.exe

@MultiBusterblader I don't know much, but I know something.

To get into "run" without the icon, hold the "windows key + press R" . if that works, the run window will come. So if you want to get to control panel type "control" or if you want directly to uninstall something type "appwiz.cpl"

@pokemonrulez777 Reboot and start tapping the F8 key before windows starts to load. You will see a black screen with a menu. Use the Arrow keys to select Safe Mode and press the Enter Key.

At the Login Screen, select the Administrator account to log in. By default

this account does not have a password. Once you are in Windows, go to

Control Panel/User Accounts. Create another administrator account or change

the Standard account back to an Administrator account.

If you have a windows cd it is easier and faster to run a REPAIR install.

because the first place to start with your virus would be taskmanager and msconifg utility. See if you can install and run the program called (hijackthis)

you might have to start up in safe mode to get around the virus that is blocking you from opening programs, also the program (Highjackthis) is a good program that will help.

Hold down the CTRL+ALT key and hit DEL

that should bring up your task manager.

go to the process tab and see if explorer.exe is running. if not then goto file and new task type in explorer.exe and hit enter or ok. If explorer.exe is running then right click on yrou desktop and choose (arrange icons by) and then put a check on (show desktop icons)
