Try this beer with a pizza, Amazing! Sierra Nevada is a hop lovers brewery and they've been pumping out Pal Ale since the 80's and really know what they're doing.

Sierra Nevada is one of the best breweries out there. The most balanced hop/malt ratio you can find. And the best part is that as a pale ale, it tastes closer to and ipa than most lame hopless pale ales out there!

American ale is pretty decent, but S N Pale Ale is much better. It really needs to be the first beer of the night though. It's piney, like licking a Christmas Tree. Not sour or musty... You guys were too drunk before you drank this for the first time.

If you taste grapefruit its most likely due to hops which pale ales have more of than traditional lagers, but not as much as Indian pale ale's.

im so used to bud beers and cheap beer, so when i tried sierra i wasnt expecting the taste. I havent had a pale ale in almost a year. at first it was kinda strange taste but after a couple of sips, bam, i love it.

That's why a lot of people never depart from the average macro beers. Craft beers have so much flavor, they actually take a little getting used too, but all of a sudden "BAM"!

this is one of those beers I save in the back of the fridge for just a 2-3 beer night.

Its really too good just to guzzle and get wasted on.

and after I am drunk I can't really discern the flavor intricacies of any food.

Kind of like when you are high and beef Ramen tastes like steak topped with sauteed mushrooms

I know it sounds bad, but actually this was our first time using a numbered rating. We confused a 1 to 10 rating with a 5 star rating. My rating for this beer was actually a 4 out of 5 Star. A pretty decent rating for a decent beer!

Great review..I'm very sorry you both didn't like it. Sierra Nevada was one of the first micro-brews here in Cali and we take alot of pride in it. We all have t-shirts and hats from brewery....most of us love it.

Anyway, try another one of there brews someday....I'll send you some if you'd like, I'll throw in a t-shirt.
