I love it when a gorgeous country with an interesting culture gets taken over by a complete prat and ruined. it just reminds me how crap human beings are
Pretty sure that guy being interviewed(on 6:13 and other parts of the video) is the same one who was jailed in the early 2000's for an alleged attempt on Niyazov's life. Can't remember his name but yeah.
Yes, I am sure every single person watching has seen both this and the other one/some other media coverage on it and instantly made the connection between the two.
It should be said that this video is old, 1995. Turkmenistan has made large improvements in its infrastucture since then. While there are improvements, other areas remain untouched. However, this video is less bias then contemporary ones, which means the message is more or less the truth. Now Russia, US and EU programs are influenced by the MP's. --- Very few owned cars in those days, it is now that we see more cars due to economic routes opening.
its very poor country the turkmenistan. because no money, corruption everywhere, when you need a job you have to pay money to get a job when after month no the wage, either no child benefits small pension money 5 pounds which is mean 10$. when turkmenistan was independent turkmenbashy niyazov promise everything its true a little but now in turkmenistan its dangerous country. turkmenbashy niyazov dead by heart attack.
surely the video is old and it is needed one as well, because it helps to compare the past and present of the country...and you can say that the country had huge progress...
this is old video! go make new videos and you will see the differences,,,,,,and compare it with your country from wherever you are. it is just young country with a long history.
"We are a very reallistic people". Haa! The official who says that in this video also claimed that Turkemenistan would be a wealthy paradise by 2000, when in fact Turkmenbasi's gang of brigands continued to drive their country into the ground.
The country is so not run into the ground. This is a biased report. Check out out videos from Turkmenistan and see how pretty it is and the modern life is so not like this. Turkmens have better life than those here in the USA. We dont have homeless intoxicated people filling the streets....
Who are you? Berdymukhamedov's chief spokesperson? Turkmenistan is a disaster, when it could be a thriving nation, because of the tyrants that run it. All these lovely shots of Ashagbat are a product of looted oil wealth controlled by leaders who are living in their own world. This video, like all Turkmen media, is propaganda, which you seem to have swallowed.
I have as well. And its not prosperous, far from it. Sure, on the outside, its all nice and clean. But there are homeless people, TONS of them, lots of people, especially Russians, have no opportunity for work, narcotics trafficking is everywhere, and for most people, the country stayed exactly the same, except that those 50 manat changed into 50000 manat, and Turkmenbashi was replaced by Berdumakhammetov.
and what if i am? if there are bitter russians, which you most likely think there isn't, they are bitter because of that stupid regime, although, some things have gotten a bit better under berdymukhammetov. although, prices have gone up, a large downside. where r u from btw?
I am from TM... Honestly i have never seen homeless people on the streets especially turkmens and do u know y? Because our people care for one another. People will even help out a stranger because it is part of our culture. We do not kick our kids out once theyre 18. If a family of 10 needs to stay under the same roof then be it, but we will never leave out our fellow countrymen.
With russians its a different story. They hate turkmenistan because the President requires of them to speak Turkmen in the workforce. Jeez what do ya think? Its our national language. Those who come to america need to learn english if they wanna find a decednt job isnt it?
I dont think theyre being unfair to the Russians. Russians look down upon turkmens that dont speak russian well or with an accent. If theyre so smart let them learn turkmen. It is so much easier than Russian. All the Americans that r out there learn it within a year.
I am not being racist or anything, but its a given fact. And plus Turkmenistan ranked VERYYYY low on Corruption. Whether its crime or govt. Im not saying the country's perfect. No country is. There r things that i disagree with as well. But TM is a fairly new country and it just needs a bit of time.
Lol, really? You've never seen beggars on the street? Go outside sometime, theres tons of them, unless they're picked up. Look, I know its a new country, but compare it to Kazakhstan, and its a craphole. Yes, I guess, for some things, Russians should learn Turkmen, but invalidating their university degrees???? Double citizenship????
The education system, although has gotten better recently, was all about that BS book, RUHNAMA, but Berdi. is slowly getting rid of it. Now, lets talk about medicine. Turkmen doctors don't know ANYTHING about medicine, a friend of my families, went to the hospital to get a shot, and they gave it to him in the wrong place, so he had to stay there for a week.
The only reason theres no nominal corruption is because theres pretty much only 1 person in power, although again, somethings have gotten better under Berdi. And all those worthless stupid white houses, that nobody lives in, and thats wasting millions of dollars that could be going into helping ordinary people??? Now, there are good things, well, these things are getting worse under Berdi. There used to be cheap food prices, etc.
ALL Turkmen trained doctors don't know anything, because all they want is the money, and all they learn is that stupid book. its only Russian trained doctors that can do anything. No CORRUPTION!?!?!?!? Cmon, lets be honest here, how do you think all those druglords are building 2 story houses when its supposedly illegal. Theyre called bribes to the government.
I said what i had to say and u said what u had to say. And im just gonna leave it right here as it is. Because we can go on and on about it. Everybody sees a country in their own point of view. I just think u'r exaggerating... ur obviously really bitter at something. I've had so many good experiences and I just dont see it the way u do.
Glad we agree to disagree. Btw, I'd just like to say, I love Turkmenistan. People are awesome, food is great, but there things to fix everywhere. Bolya!
Because of these stupid journalist's Turkmenistan is hated

Hey my uncle is a Turkmen Doctor in a rural Lebap region!
He performs surgeries everyday. Of course it was quit tough with medicatons, but it is getting better.
Please don't try to generalize (hasty generalization as I was taught in Critical Skills class lol)

Therefore, no need to argue about it at all...
