coz i was looking up Kolaveri, I discovered these covers and the whole pakistani coke studio. I have no clue why these videos were related though but my first impression was that Kolaveri had something to do with Coke studio and MTV roots was a part of Coke studio...i was so impressed by this new development in music .but then i figured out all those songs came from different media productions...one was for a film, one was set in pakistan and another was an american attempt to trace indian roots

I'm sure COke studio india would defend their show as being true to original indian classical music -- hwich i guess is the point of this platform - that is to get back to the roots of good music. in that case maybe I'm not ready for such music or maybe...maybe the music they like doesn't really sound good - unless you've been training for a million years and have the theoretical understanding to appreciate its nuances and revelations. SO we cant blame Coke India in that case.

yeah. I dont get it, why is this version better than Coke Studio India? Something is seriously flawed with the way things are managed in those productions. The song selections of some, like for Shaan (thats the one l recently saw) surprised me. "jab se tere naina" . I mean what are they basing their song choices on? Are the music makers in India lost in their own exclusive world of music? did they not care for the platform? Its so interesting this version is better.

This is a beautiful song composed by ARR! Hats off! Shanker Tucker - Your good at composing i accept. But here the composition looks like its a patho song. And @ Iyer sisters - I can see expression only on your faces but not in your voices. This is a such a beautiful song filled with lots of emotions and feelings. Check the original version and compare with your way of singing.. Even though the composition looks like pathos, you could've brought some life to song. But u made it totally Flop!

ZERO is harsh. This is a slow version of the original and has been sung in a sweet, casual manner, the way a girl would sing if she were alone in her room. In fact, I prefer this to the movie version, which has just too many musical accompaniments. Tucker has talent!

your rendition of the song makes it sound sad and dragged out...if u had added a little more feel (a little more cheer) your song would have sounded better....you girls have great voices and lots of potential, but try not to make the songs sound so dragged out...maybe it's overall editing and the addition of effects (if there are any) but try to put more feel into the songs you sing :)
