Olympus Stylus 1010 Digital Camera

I've had this camera for over 3 years and today the zoom function is stuck in the out position and the guide function wont work. Any tips or ideas on how to fix it without sending it in to be fixed by a pro.

i have used this camera for exactly 2 years now, i only had a flash not working problem who was fixed for free by the olympus warranty in about 10 days. other than that, wonderful camera with a good zoom for a compact camera who went out 2 years and half ago.

you'll find out that it can take fabulous pictures, you just have to practice, take a bunch of picture for testing, try all the options and the results will be great. wanting to try the Olympus VR 310 model now so bad!!

this camera is crap i put it on a smoove surface and picture still was blurry

I bought one unfortunately the LCD screen became dark and blurry exactly after one year. It didn't fall it just go haywire.

I am thinking of buying an Olympus... but I wanted to know what the video quality is like? My current camera (Sony) cant take videos in the dark... not very impressed with it.

Get another brand that is my sincere opinion my MJU1010 LCD screen just became blurry and dark just after a year for no reason. But th eearlier moder Camedia C-760 ultra zoom was better as it was made in Korea unlike MJU1010 which was made in China.

i know that the super macro is excellent and so are most of the other features, i like the 7x zoom that most other small cameras dont have, and the 4gb card i have is also good

i just bought this camera today, and i just have to say this is an awesome camera. the internal memory can hold 6-7pictures without card, with card like mine i bought a 2gb card (only $10) and i can hold 783 pictures on it!, it has many other features, easy to learn and use :D

I just bought this camera and its just awsome. Its 7x zoom is really nice and the 10 megapixel is great. It has so many features for everything like taking pictures of fire works, behind the glas, burst, pets and animals anything.

You should select an XD "M" card which allows you to do videos for longer than ten seconds. You might also have to download a firmware change to accomplish this but I suspect that 1010 cameras sold lately might already have the firmware installed.

no. it is a stlyus

Not an expert, but I think it was launched in Europe as MJU and in the USA as Stylus.

I'd go for this one or the Niko Coolpix S60 in red/or black (red cooler :P) depending on budget but this is probably best camera out on market for what you get at the moment. This is what around about £150 and its simple and yet gives amazing pictures and stuff. Or you could maybe go for the more practical hands on approach with the 7.1 MP alternative that is water and shockproof. This camera atm is easily the best in the price range.
