hey I know Tamil version came first and also know it was directed by Mani Ratnam. Definitely if MR would have directed, it would have been better.And no I don't think the Hindi one sucked. I think so because I can relate more with the bit of North Indian touch to the same subject. But you can't blame the director for that because that's what remakes are done for. To modify a bit so that it would suit the audience for whom its been remade.

You might think it sucked. That's your opinion.
