  • Robert Byrd is an important symbol of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. In admitting the error in his ways he gives others the opportunity to take a look at themselves and their actions. HE LED A FILLABUSTER AGAINST THE 1964 CIVIL RIGHTS ACT. You need to do your homework. He was an Exalted Cyclops in the KKK. He reports to the Dragon and coordinates the Centaurs. He made statements into the 50's and 60's saying he would rather die a 1000 deaths than work next to a nigger.

  • @drstonesr He made a complete 180. later saying that when one of his grandsons died it made him realize that "well black people love their grandchildren too" he appeared at the rosa parks award ceremony complimenting her civil disobedience as heroic. He appeard at the tuskgigi airmen ceremony commemorating the very first black pilots in our armed forces. he shows all who watch him that no matter how stubbornly ignorant you can be you can always change. he's brave. you should recognize.

  • @oldhacks I can't image how many people Robert Bird was involve in Lynching. You Grand-Wizard you.

  • God bless you Robert Byrd

  • @X23Unit <3

  • @X23Unit if u read the Trance-formation of America by Cathy O'brien who was his sex slave, a 'Presidential model' no less...(who was later rescued and deprogrammed..) u would also learn that this hero of yours was also a pedophile, a mind controller, monarch handler, drug pushing, racist, prostitution pushing, bestality porn pushing, stun-gun toting, torturing reptilian hybrid.

i sincerely hope this creature is now deposited where he belongs, in the firey bowels of hell for all eternity..

  • @SovereignBeing The rank work of demented pathological narcissistic egocentric failures steeped in neurotic self-hate. No artistic talent not even the expertise to create an entertaining satire. Was it Goethe? That sated the greatest form of satire was satire fused with finely crafted irony that two indistinctly one? Every one of these failures commits the greatest sin of an artist, which is they bore me.

  • @persevere4 yeah right,, so they were making it up for attention??! i m sorry the perverse torture of others bores u.. that in itself is all the aforementioned and more...

  • When Sen. Byrd was apart of the Ku Klux Klan it was a time when being a racist was an accepted thing. People change over time, he realizes that it is wrong therefore he has spoken that he is deeply apologetic of what he has done and will apologize furthermore.

  • Robert KKK Byrd was The Grand Poontang Of the W. Va. Empire Of The Invisible Knights Of The Ku Klux Klan. He was Also The 'Chief Cock Sucker'.

  • FUCK ALL POLITICIANS!! hang every single one of them for treason!!

  • i dont like most dems but byrd is ok

  • Great man.

  • The Dems do anything to get a vote and win!

The KKK will even have a baby with my black women to hide their agenda of eugenics.

  • No hes 3rd in line for the Presidency supporting all the KKK agendas thru the Dem party, Planned Parenthood-thru stem cell research, welfare, he gave his delegate to Barack after the Dems BROKE the 10th Amendment to make Barack bet Hillary!

  • *Now

  • FUCK ROBERT BYRD AND THE DEMS! THEY LIE ABOUT how they do!

I know about Byrd heads letter to the Grand Wizard 3 yrs after Byrd CLAIMED to abandon the KKK, he wrote: "The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia" and "in every state in the Union."

  • This old fuckin KKK scrote needs to sit down & shut up. He's so damn old I bet he shits himself daily.

The only reason he left his "grand dragon" position in the KKK was to further his political career. People like him don't change at heart.

  • You should try saying something insightful or intelligent. First of all, America in 1945 and America in 2009 are not the same thing. There's no valid comparison you can make between the two in regards to white-black relations.

You proceed to say something idiotic like "People like him don't change at heart". Besides the ambiguous phrase "people like him", it's also a generalization and pretty much impossible to back up.

  • HOW THE FUCK IS HE A HERO, HEs in OR WAS IN THE KKK. IDIOTS

  • the opt word being "was". meaning 60 Fucking years ago. How old are you? I'm guessing thats like 3 of your life times put together. and since he turned his back on them he has been front and center at every engagement celebrating black history. so whos the idiot?

  • thank you really i mean im from wv and he is

    A. Not an idiot but could probably outsmart an entire coutry if he was not such a good senator

B.A FORMER kkk member and has done more to promote the antidiscremination laws then anyother senator and

C.Wreckm you are an idiot by all markers of our society you judge someone by superficial evidence when you actually do your homework then try to bash on Byrd :)

  • amen brother!

  • @oldhacks Blacks don't need this withered sack of shit anywhere near the front and center of engagements celebrating our history.

He had his chance 46 years ago, and he spent 14 hours arguing against the Civil Rights Act. If he actually felt that he was wrong, he would have quietly stepped aside and attempted to live it down.

If his attempts at looking like Mr. Buddy-buddy to blacks now days don't seem like the gimmicky charades of a guilty conscience then that's a bit.. I don't kow, sad?

  • @Fish880 yes you DO idiot. the reformists are the most IMPORTANT element because they can get the majority to change their minds quicker being as they have EMPATHY for both sides. wake up.

  • @oldhacks Now you're telling me what I need...

And you have the nerve to go so far as to call him a reformist? He worked to block reform and then once reform came, he perfomed the ultimate in cowardly manuevers and jumped right on that bandwagon as an imposter only to save his own skin.

Empathy? I don't think it possible for that pathetic old asshat to ever have empathy for me or "my side" because, in my view, racism is a mental disorder. One which can be swept under a rug, but not cured.

  • @Fish880 if the bandwagon is going the right direction than what's the harm in going with the flow?

  • failure.

  • in comparison to robert byrd. yes yes you are

  • SENATOR BYRD IS MY AMERICAN HERO

  • This man is an american hero and as a memeber of a bi-racial family, I support him. He admits that he made mistakes in his younger days but if you look at his record, he has more than made up for it. He is one of the most compassionate members of the Senate and one of the most respected individuals in political science history.

  • Bird's an ex KKK recuiter. Dems can keep him.

  • 60 years ago. thats 3 of your life times. and he's more then made up for it. you're a coward

  • The NAACP's Congressional Report Card for the 108th Congress (spanning the 20032004 congressional session),awarded Byrd with an approval rating of 100% for favoring the NAACP's position in all 33 bills presented to the United States Senate regarding issues of their concern. Only 16 other Senators of the same session matched this approval rating.

  • Oh Yes! The Great Robert Byrd. Wanna Know More About His Contribution To Society?

    Read All About Him in:

Trance Formation of America by Cathy O'Brien

  • oh yeah him and jesse helms hosted bi partisan kkk parties

  • you're about as dumb as they come. Robert byrd is a great american.

  • Do your homework. Byrd is one sick puppy. (And I'm a democrat, BTW!)

  • was he sick when he condemned the war, when he condemned dog fighting? when he honored the tuskeggee airmen? when he gave a speech about rosa parks and the constitution? when he tried to mark a calender day as "constitution day"?

  • he changed i think but helms did the same thing, its called playing politics and u should know that, helms hated blacks despite having worked with one...

in a pic setting there was a black man on a picture behind them he thought they should move out the way because the folks in carolina would not understamd...

playing politics, ronald reagan played politics as well he supported jim crow like apartheid and then changed his stance on it

  • fuck you!!! i guess great americans = klansmen lol

  • he's important because he learned from his mistakes. which gives other americans that still covet racism the opportunity to reexamine how they feel about other races. he's the longest serving senator in the history of this country. the guy's a walking monument. and all you have to say is "yea but 60 years ago!.. blah blah blah"

  • well douche? are you gonna comment and run?

  • ryanvwc2006:

Get this - it is probably safe to say that better than 75% of REAL computer geeks are very very much left of center. And - frankly - I don't know if I could trust a right wing 'so-called' geek to be able to think expansively enough to do truly great coding.

  • there is no left and right. there's common sense and then there's GREED

  • robert byrd has done more for this country than any of you republican right leaning computer geeks will ever do for it ...

  • He was a freaken GRAND WIZARD OF THE KKK.

How can you admire one such as he?

  • because he learned from his mistakes and is now front and center at every ceremony that our government has honoring black leaders in American society. he speaks a lot about how much he admires and respects the very people he used to stand against and through his leadership he can guide others to come to terms with their own feelings of bigotry and spite.Plus he's one of the most morally decent and wise spokesman we have against the war in Iraq. he is the living embodiment of the American spirit.
