Multiplayer wise, i prefer Call of Duty 4 over Modern Warfare 2. Call of Duty 4 multiplayer is more balanced, even though Modern Warfare 2 has new guns and perks. However, i would play modern warfare 2 for co-op and single player.

I am happy the Call of duty 4 community is still alive.
