hey bro! Seriously ... a 2nd hand neck thru ibanez soundgear ... one of the higher end models ... only because that's what I'm looking for right now ... I have the sr1200 fretless and it's sweet ... I want one with frets now ... I just like that narrow neck ... so easy to play, but ya know, everyone has different tastes. So many brands to choose from too. I guess I'm kind of an ibanez convert from fender. For 800 you could get a really high end instrument from ibanez, for shure esp. 2nd hand
i already have a ibanez SG Prestige 5 string. but it has gotten old and with the electronics wearin out i want a different model. i was thinkin about getting a 6 string bass but im not too sure about them yet.
i have already owned 2 squires. one i love the other i got rid off a while ago. the one i got rid of was a 5 string and its necks width was almost twice the width of my ibanez 5 string. i didn't like the really wide neck. it made it imposable to play on the B and E string up high without hurting myself.
The Ibanez SR506 (what I have $630), Ibanez SR706 ($800), Ibanez BTB576 ($850), or a used Ibanez SR prestige series.
The BTB576 is phenomenal, but I don't mind the SR506 that I have. The SR506 and SR706 are exactly the same only the 706 has one different wood in the neck.
Good luck, check out my videos if you want to see what the 506 sounds and looks like.
pudsy, what bass would you recommend to me. i have a $800 limit though...

Get one of the new squier classic vibe series. Don't be put off by the name, after all you do own an Ibanez.
Just check out the squiers, they are well crafted machines.
I myself have a musicman Sub, but I'm looking into the squier basses as you can't really beat the fender look or tone.
