  • so I'm hopin' it'll end up as a c4. so funny

  • ok youre method is pretty good although you have made the challenge much more complex then it should be. (try making one but have the mouth piece already attached to the ocarina it makes it a lot easyer)

  • What clay did you use, and did you need to put it in a kiln?

  • it's funny to see what the subtitles say

  • 11,303 are zelda fans like me!!

  • @161angie Glad to hear it was useful to you.

  • im making an ocarina, but im doing a pinch method and i could never figure out how i couldnt make the mouth piece work but now i found out, not by this video though :P but watching this gave me some ideas. But im trying to make a 4 hole ocarina thats big or make a 12 houle. and by big maybe 7 inches in length

  • wow i cant even position the mouth pice to make sound in trying but every time i do it its ether too high up or to low .. lol the closest i got was a low squily sound

  • Hey jimenezlee, I was using the same site and same method, however when it came time to attach the mouthpiece, I couldn't keep it in the right position while attaching the slip. I could only keep it in the right position when playing it (But playing an ocarina in two parts is not what I had in mind) I tried keeping my slot stick in the piece and tried to keep it lined up with the lip, but by the time it was attached, the tune had gone and only came back after I removed it and held it in place.

  • @Fragacide, Slip is a watery mix of clay and water. It should have just enough clay to help you stick the pieces together, but be very runny. To attach the mouthpiece, scratch and wet the edges with the slip, then bring the mouth piece to the ocarina opening, and start securing with a thin round piece of clay around the gaps. At this point test that it still plays like you want and adjust; start applying more slip on the added clay to wet and soften and start smoothing.

  • lol sharp pointy instrunment ^_^

  • there are charts out there showing what drill bits to use for each hole instead of you having to tune it properly.

  • I have a sweet potato ocarina in front of my right now that I made last school year.

  • This video helped me to finally make ocarina's of my own out of clay. But a problem i ran into is when they dry out they no long have a noise, its just dead air. :(

    Anyone know?

  • so its clay?? or the skin??

  • The recesses that he cuts at the end actually mess with the tune. I had that happen to me when I tried to make my first oc. It's being fired soon I hope. I also didn't make the body open enough so the notes were hard to tune. I never really got it right.

  • Guys, sorry I didn't respond before, yes, this is ceramic from the local ceramic shop where you can make shapes and stuff. I don't really know what kind it is, but I told them what I wanted to do with it and that I was going to use slip to glue the pieces back to gether etc. and that I wanted to minimize shrinkage when firing, they recommended which to use.

  • What kind of clay are you using? I'm wanting to make a couple but I don't want to get cheap clay.

  • LOL nice job but i can't belive u actually used an actual sweet potato to make it...

  • ur cool lol So all you need to buy to make your own is clay and a sweet potato? coool

  • what type of clay did you use

  • good good that willi be a great ocarina.=>
