  • The three drones have more personality than Lowell's three colleagues.

  • Suddenly, Star Wars, Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Alien no longer seem as revolutionary as we were led to believe...

Silent Running is an unsung cinematic legend.

  • the movie is cool, and the droids are awesom. Thoughtfull movie too!

  • He can reprogram robots but can't put a bandage on his leg?

  • @40390576 Haha thats funny... C-3PO drones would have been a much better help.

  • FREEMAN ? YES SIR ! YOU'RE A HELL OF

    AN AMERICAN ! I THINK I AM .

  • needle in a haystack? its a giant ship with the eden project glued to the front floating on the dark side of saturn. and as i recall, saturn doesnt have many other planets to confuse it with. they're just lazy :P

  • @IndieRokker247 Needle in a haystack, the Valley Forge had left Saturn's orbit and was now in deep space. That is what they meant by a needle in a haystack.

  • the original droids

  • Lowell's a TRUE american...in the mold of John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt; absolute passion for conservation. I was always impressed with his rightiousness.

  • That ship is awesome... if it could only be made invisible somehow. I'd never'a left my drones outside. ...and definitely need a coupl'a replacement domes for the twigs.

  • Drone number one, hit me with the morphine! Double-dose, STAT!

  • This and 2001 are WAAAY ahead of their time.

  • yes, you couldn't help but love the little guys,

  • I love those lttle helper robots. =)

  • They are cute, aren't they.

  • The way they performed his operation came across as so gentle and professional. Almost like little angels.

  • haha, you guys are psychos!

  • Great film!

  • I love this film. The trip through saturn's rings is beautifully and cleverly done.

  • Oh definitely! That got my imagination going when I first saw it in the 70's. But letting the Voyager probes go through them, they found out they're so so thin.

I'm sure there's other things out there like this. Space may turn out not to be so 'flat' after all. There could be areas like Cape Horn.
