@henshalldood The engine in the wrangler comes right out of a Grand Caravan, the 3.6L in the Grand Cherokee and 2012 wrangler is also used in the grand caravan. if your going to get a wrangler i would suggest you wait for the 2012s, as they are going to make 285 Hp vs the 210 HP they make now.
I love all the people busting on Hummers for being mechanically in common with a Tahoe, when in fact they should be comparing it to a 3500 series Heavy duty pickup. H1, 6.5 N/A diesel, TRUE H1, the ones that are a GUTTED humvee, not the normal h1's, with the original 37" mudders on beadlocks. are badass, Regular H1's are cool. Dude go on wiki and look at the H2 you will find out GM uses a section of the suburban frame and they box it then the front has the frame of the 2500 pickup and the rear frame is a modified 1500 upgraded to have a higher towing capacity. Dont say its a suburban because it isn't. And dont tell me the H2 is not a capable offroad rig because it is, i build trophy trucks i know the capabilities far better then you do.
pickup trucks are called Silverados and Sierras...in case you didn't know. The H2 is based on the GMT 820 platform, so are the Yukon, Tahoe, and Escalade. The pickups are based on the GMT 800/880...look it up.

Blazer? Didn't they stop calling the fullsize two door SUVs Blazers after 1994 when they were still building GMT400 trucks? They never even made a four door Blazer.
The H2 shares plenty of parts with GMT 800 Tahoes, but it also shares parts with 2500LD GMT800 trucks (14 bolt SF axle, for one).

hey thats ok, shame you'll never experience true quality workmanship in a vehicle, especially if you keep driving GM shit. H2's are some of the most useless vehicles IMO, they 10MPG on road, have poor quality, and I've seen many Toyotas on youtube doing the same trails as the H2's and taking them much easier. Don't forget the MB Unimog and the Older G-Wagen, both have better curb appeal than your POS Hummer and are more capable off road.

The 2500 is a series of the silverodo as is the 1500. The higher number pertains to its towing capacity. The higher towing capacity means that the frame has been strengthened as well as other components of the truck. If you knew anything about trucks you would know what the 2500 is. Dude go on wiki and look at the H2 you will find out GM uses a section of the suburban frame and they box it then the front has the frame of the 2500 pickup and the rear frame is a modified 1500 upgraded to have a higher towing capacity. pickup trucks are called Silverados and Sierras...in case you didn't know. The H2 is based on the GMT 820 platform, so are the Yukon, Tahoe, and Escalade. The pickups are based on the GMT 800/880...look it up.

You can not compare a H2 to a unimog, maybe an H1 is comparable. The unimog and the H2 have two completely different purposes AM General didnt plan for the H2 to serve as a military/utility truck so dont say the unimog can do this and that over a civilian offroader.

They didnt even break even on the deal.It sits empty now while they build buses next door at the old H1 plant. The GMT 820 platform is the Avalanche/Surburban/Yukon/Tahoe and H2. This is NOT a hummer...its a overpriced Surburban. the real AM General HMMWV was designed by AMC...thats your 32 years.Chevy had nothing to do with it.

I am not bitter at someone wheeling their truck. I am bitter that people don't realize it just a name and pay allot extra for a body kit. The H2 and H3 share NOTHING, NOT ONE THING with the H1.

Blazer? Didn't they stop calling the fullsize two door SUVs Blazers after 1994 when they were still building GMT400 trucks? They never even made a four door Blazer.
The H2 shares plenty of parts with GMT 800 Tahoes, but it also shares parts with 2500LD GMT800 trucks (14 bolt SF axle, for one).
Instead of being bitter toward someone wheeling their truck, why not take that angst and direct it towards the hippies that are trying to stop off-roading?

A question isn't stupid.
A "locker" is a locking differential. By engaging the locker you are causing the wheels on the same axle to rotate at the same speed. It increases traction by allowing both the wheels to rotate at the same time even if there's no traction for one wheel.
