@JohnEBMcC I know Anders Kobro(drummer) a bit and talk to him. He is Carpathian Forest's drummer. He has a few bands too on the side. Tchort (guitars)was in Blood Red Throne, I think... The others, I am not sure of. I know most of them were in a band called In The Woods too. Their "Heart of Ages" album is awesome:)This concert is awesome!!!
Thanks for info! I'll check out the bands and albums you've noted!! (Right now am still taking in as much PT and SW collaborations, Opeth, and Riverside as possible..and can't get enough :))
yeah, they are a progressive death metal band. This album was just them venturing into more calm territory. Sort of similar to what Opeth did when they released Damnation. If you like this band you should check out Opeth and Damnation. If you like that album you'll surely like their death metal stuff. Bands like Opeth and Green Carnation show that death metal can be beautiful and melodic. Not just grinding and ear-splitting. Though that is nice sometimes
I'll see them in August on Pukkelpop I think. Also Porcupine Tree is coming to Belgium on the 14th October :D You know PT? Hope GC is not disbanded, at least want to see them once =/
Well, they have been in Chicago a while ago when recording their dvd :p hope for you they'll come to the US again =) have you heard Steven Wilson's solo album?
oh really? Well I live in the west part of the country in Arizona so I probably wouldnt have gotten to see them anyway. I haven't heard it yet but my friend told me it was quite good.
The first time I got ever heard Green Carnation was because I was looking for the "Alone" done by Arcturus... I found this one and from the same second I was sold.
Equally as good as the Arcturus one but in a different way. Now I listen to this one at least once a day and can't get enough of it.
great song and live gig

It's so sad that this band is so Underated and Unknown to the Masses...Garbages cover all the good bands

My favorite from them, I remember I used to play Civilization 2 while listening to Alone on repeat, singing like crazy.
I should try getting this DVD as this will forever be one of my favorites even though they've stopped playing together.

Thanks for recommending these guys. Great sound! It's shame they split. Are any of these guys active in other bands now?

Rather prog doom. They only had an early death metal demo and after that a few death growls on LoDDoD, but nothing more.
JonasReingold 2 years ago
Though not vocally, they always had plenty of death metal and melodeath influenced riffs.

This one reminds me of some Blackmore's Night stuff. Amazing song from a pretty unique band in the metal world!

Arcturus's version is better.

yes I agree. Arcturus' version sounds more like black metal.
