@kawika96797 Yes, I know - As did my grandparents. I am going to hang leis where they are all interred in laihina in tribute to their memory. To all of us Emma was Hawaii.
This is wonderful to see and brings back so many lovely memories. My grandparents became friends with Emma back in the 70s when she and her family performed at the Sheraton and remained good friends for the rest of their lives. My brother was christened at the Episcopal church in Lahaina and Emma was his Godmother! We are going back to Maui to visit soon and will visit my grandparents and Emma in Lahaina. Mahalo for sharing.
It's a great honor to have known Aunty Irmagard. She is aloha. Her love prevailed over all. Her ohana continues this purely Hawaiian tradition not because of our homeland but especially because their ancestors wanted to share their aloha to the world. Lucky I come from Kailua.

I love it. I lived near, and worked with, Emma when I was younger. This brings back too many memories of Emma, Kaloulu, Manabu and family.
