  • say what you will but nobody's gonna interview him like that again, not a bad piece of referendum, lovely rapport... william shatner used to have that show raw nerve, he wouldn't have to worry about collegiate reputation, etc

  • interviewer isn't very interesting, but has good questions

  • sooo ... bow ties are in at ivy leagues?

  • how is that guy at Harvard? He stumbles over every sentence.

  • How can this idiot possibly have to look at his fucking question sheet 15 times each time?

  • @blueballsredhair Probably because he's nervous, like making unconscious hand gestures or playing with your pen during a presentation

  • Hahahaha everything from 3:48 to 4:38

"For instance, you and your belief that orange juice makes you gay."

  • stephen is a good sport for giving insightful responses to a groupie fag..

  • the audience is hella stupid and vapid, im probably jealous of being rich, but gosh harvard is supposed to be the best, their culture, just from seeing their blah reaction to steves brillance, seems so mundane

  • yeah, I'de like to see any of you interview colbert and not be nervous. this guy did great, so shut up arm-chair quarter back interviewers. idiots

  • @Redsparrowe123 he was boring!! and a lil creepy

  • I didn't know Steny Hoyer was such an ass. lol

  • Yeah... the interviewer is awkward. He doesn't even need to crack jokes or anything - you don't need to JOKE in order to have a sense of humor, you can laugh and smile and respond, and be part of the joke. But he's not even doing THAT.

Still, I can't mind - Colbert is doing wonderfully on his own. XD

  • @RosaLui Hola Rosa, om my gosh, doesn't his attitude compared with their complete stupidity, blah and abrasive attitudes make you fall even more in love with Stephen, like over and over and over <3?

  • stupid interviewer... just roll with the jokes man! geez...

  • This host can't be that stupid.

  • @brbedel

  • I'll bet someone in that Harvard audience becomes a writer for The Simpsons maybe the kid who Colbert calls an assassin

  • The little stools are rediculous, bring out the big soft chairs, Hartford!

And get a better interviewer, this one has no sence of humor and is very shy/ nevrous/ BORING.

  • @kittygirl792 fk is wrong w/your spelling?

  • don't be jealous of him. I felt it and had to let it go. I think he really settled into the interview and did a great job. I know i would've found it hard to speak to a man like Stephen who really puts his intellect on slow release. PLUS Social graces aren't that important..i know many people who have succeeded in both their personal and business lives without them.

  • @Nunchuck

Whatever man, REAL social graces Are important as a foundation in interviews, because "interviews" are inherently bunk. This one was only fun because Stephen Colbert = very smart and charming, i think damn brilliant. This audience was depressingly boorish, large majority were dimwittedly and brazenly rude, like the guy who wore one of those Bo(Red) shirts, and pretty much a weird audience tome overall. I was only distracted from the guy because Stephen dealt with him so successfully

  • @brbedel

interviews aren't inherently bunk as the interview is a cornerstone of psychoanalysis and antrhopology, used to mine and expose the subconcious intention and motivations behind conscious actions, lives and cultures. The fact that it has been reappropriated for entertainment doesn't erase this implicit agenda. The kid was nervous and he tried to rise above it with some bravado. If you've ever conducted an interview you would know that the dualism of professionalism and charm is not easy

  • @Nunchuck are you a sociology major? Well sociology is bunk as well, it invented the word "race". I've been through psychoanalysis, so am familiar with the strange world it is, THAT is expolration, not "mining" (which is a disgusting word when used in the setting of a friendly interview. Theyre often embarrassing, because the interviewer wishes to retain control. The "audience format" in this interview was fun because of Colbert's heroic intimacy and honesty. An interviewee can only do so much

  • @brbedel

lmao you cant denounce social science because a distinction was made to a devisiveness that had been acted upon for millenia. If it was used to create further divide that is not the fault of definition. Your e being absurd and in such a insignificant context to boot, which informs me that i'm wasting my time in responding. For some reason youre a very angry person ..

  • @Nunchuck ?s wrong with being angry on youtube? social scientists would proclaim it a healthy place to be aggressive. comments are fun so why not be rediculous? you use terms like "mine" and "expose", so youre way ahead of me. anyway the point of all my rambling is that Harvard should do better.

  • @Nunchuck Example, the guy who asked if Stephen was available for lunch, which was very cute and brave. he ruined it by starting off with the terrible "you won't be able to answer this question" he premtively over-corrected himself on his one chance!! I would have gushed, at least he would respect the drama. this interview was filled with this stuff, sooo boring, Stephen handled it all with grace.

  • @Nunchuck and obviously, a system that is a slave to historicism and "race mining" is uber creepy. this has been fun

  • @brbedel

lol.wow."race mining" that kinda libel is worthy of a tabloid mag.

you used the word "bunk" twice...its a generalisation that you were not willing or able to substantiate so i told u the formative base of an otherwise transient tool, being the celebrity interview. I liked how u denounced sociology and then referred to it, even if facetiously. Havard ppl r still ppl, dude. they can fuck up & have weaknesses too, im sure he has other strengths or he wouldnt be in the school now would he?

  • @Nunchuck bunk is a good word, & its with "as well" so your pointing it out is more unnecessary than me actually using it twice. Also, the absence of follow-up questions, and the guy reacts more to subversive changes in momentum and tone than actual questions and what Steven said. I cant have my rant-partners think I don't know what i speak of, so yes, I share my knowledge of that odious psuedo-science, i even worked at the census. To the latter half of your last comment, Duh

  • @Nunchuck charm only counts if you've got it

  • @brbedel ah, well then maybe you are right. I wasn't there but would assume that interviewing Colbert would be intimidating for most. Maybe if they got a less socially awkward person it would have been more fun to watch, IDK

  • @Redsparrowe123 youre right, if only he had gotten so stephen would flirt with him

  • look at his bow-tie! dear god save me from the nerds stuck in the 70ies!! o.O

  • 7:04 BURNED

  • those stools are silly

  • If only the nerd wasn't so awkward.....still, excellent interview.

  • Ha, yea why was he chosen....

  • it is not easy to relax in that situation. His questions are relly good.

  • You'd think that if he was smart enough to write those questions, he'd be competent enough to ask and address proper follow up questions.
