  • Am I missing something? I don't think she landed a 3Lz here.

  • Then they named a spin after her Ha!!

  • 2:57 =worst camera work ever....Go DENISE!

  • Amazing she's maybe the first skater ever to do a three-jump combination... She should have stay to win 1984 Olympic Gold =/

  • @snowballwannabe Someone asked me recently who I thought were the 3 most influential women skaters of the last 40 years. I answered without any hesitation: Janet Lynn, Denise Biellman and Midori Ito. Why? Because those 3 really moved our sport forward in the ladies. Its odd that none of them ever actually won the Olympics, but in my opinion they were the 3 milestone skaters.

  • @npe1 They were movers and shakers, indeed. Monsters of FS.

  • She changed the rules of figureskating. Every big championship everybody would see her skate and everybody would be absolutely appalled that she didn't win.

  • thanks for uploding this video, nice to watch sth from times, i wasn't even planned to be born :D

  • She's basically the mother of modern day women's figure skating.

  • This is great! She does doubles so beautifully - they are just perfect makes me wish triples were off-limits :-)

Thank you for posting this - i did wonder what the cameraman was thinking when he zoomed in on her feet during the Biellmann spin. (?)

  • Wonderful athlete. Amazing how simple her costume is. Would be a practice outfit by today's standards. Love her spins.
