  • Really good stuff! Didn't know this design has been out a year already. Just wanted to ask if a piece of fiberglass wick would help; less spillage in case of an accident, eliminate need for preheating, i heard the Trangia stoves have some inside their outer case. Just a thought. Will build one today. Also like to try the Featherfire. Thanks for helpful videos.

  • verrrry cooooool !

  • could someone please tell me where to obtain the "crumb catcher" .

  • Lowes, Home Depot, really any hardware store, in the sink department. Hope it helps. Peace.

  • build it silly

  • OBKB! In case you didn't catch on, I was simply copying someone else's design here(with permission on this one). There are newer and better techniques and stoves out there now. Check out some of the "featherfire" knockoff designs NCHiker1970 and I have come up with. In my opinion, the are the best so far. There are, however, newer ideas just around the corner here, so stay tuned! Peace.

  • @valvetim in case you didn't pick up what there layin down you build it from parts brought from several places,a real do it yourself project!

  • Looks like a great stove. Could you please describe the process of annealing. Please forgive my ignorance.

  • No worries man! Check out Zellph's video on Pop Can Annealing Process, Z-roll. You should see it in his videos. The idea is to heat a metal and then let it cool slowly, which takes the temper out of it and makes it flexible. I hope that helped! Peace.

  • TerraFirma369, Great remake of the Crumb Catcher Stove. The original Stove of this design had my pliers hangers. I own the first one. It is a great stove, I may have to do a reveiw of it!

  • Cool, man! Thanks for the comment! Peace.

  • Dude cool stove!

  • Thanks for saying my name the right way BTW!

  • So it is pronounced that way. I rather thought so. Good to know. I hope I got Greywulf2112's name right also....lol. Peace.

  • an interesting design! I like it

  • By the way did I say I was Very Impressed!

  • And yes, I will be using a windscreen with this stove. Peace.

  • Great Job!!! Wonderful workmanship! Thanks for the mention and the kind words for both Greywulf and I. I did consider the annealing process when building the one for the how to and the one I have now is made that way. I have also moved the peg board holders up to the top holes and it does make a difference in the heiny pots. You made my day when I seen this video! Thanks again for the mention and wonderful job you did on recreating this stove! Take care my friend!

  • It was a fun project that didn't take all day to finish. I tried it with the hangers in the top row of holes. Major difference for the 24 oz. heiny pot. It seemed to allow for more flame via more oxygen, but not too much. I think I will work on the percolator next..... Peace.

  • Very Nice Job On Your Version of this Stove Build. I hope you will be able to take some video while your out camping. It would be cool to see it in use outdoors in the wind.

Will you be using a windscreen? I think the job that my brother greywulf2112 and NCHiker1970 did on this project is exceptional and a benefit to all of the camping, survival, hiking and outdoor community. I hope to see this one in more videos. Great Job You Guys!!

  • These guys did the work, I just copy things with decent accuracy. Reverse engineering,as it were. For the record, the bead of J.B. Weld is only on the inside of the lip of the canister can, spread super thin, and about 3-4 mm wide. The purpose was to give support to the unit while i did the last annealing and rolling. When you press in the basket assembly, the JB forms under it, like an epoxy retention ring. I used as little as possible. Thanks for the comment! Peace.

  • Excellent job! The annealing is a great idea and will make the stove more durable.

Thanks so much for the kind words you gave to Drak and myself, that made my day. I'm happy that we were able to contribute something worthwhile to the "Stovie" community. The only thing, I did differently than you and Drak, was that I put the pliers holders up in the highest holes on the side. That makes for better stability of the Heiney Pots. You can see it in my "Stand Alone" video.

  • Also, I have the same exact pliers holders you do.

  • Thanks for the comment! Any contributions, especially good ones like this, are steps to improving the whole. Peace.

  • Nice Job, especially rolling the lip over the top.

    Bill

  • Thank you. Zellph has a few videos on annealing that are pretty educational for those not familiar with the process. I believe Tinny at MiniBullDesign has a video where he anneals the edge as well, but I may be wrong. Anyway, Peace.
