  • These are Lee clouds. The Foehn you will not see as clouds but as "No CLOUDS". Its the drying of the falling air on the lee side of the mounain chain. Foehn will certainly not bring rain!!

  • That's right killroy - Foehn winds are snow-eater winds. In north America, they're called chinook winds...decending air that dries and warms, and can attack a deep snowpack with amazing speed.
