  • Not only is there more lag on the Android touch, but on the orientation switch as well. Hope it gets fixed soon.

  • THIS IS NOT THE LAG PEOPLE SPEAK OF.

  • Laggy phone,, yeah not that laggy,, but not as smooth as ios.. I hope these fandroid boys will stop bragging about their android, its annoying..yeah its a good os but still not worth to brag about unless they fix the ui smoothness and change their cheap plasticky design.. And for Samsung fix the goddamn shittyKies coz i cant update via OTA!

  • Android is actually multi-tasking...thats why it appears to lag more. iPhones gives priority to user actions. If you scroll on a web page for example, it will STOP downloading stuff...it wont download in the background while you are scrolling. On Android it does.

  • the reason Android is laggy is before ICS their wasn't much GPU acceleration now their is GPU acceleration but on the Galaxy Nexus the GPU is not power full enough it is at least two years old. It is the same GPU that is in the Nexus S. Now if you look at the GPU in the Galaxy S2, the Exynos mail GPU is much faster and the Tegra 3 ICS runs much smoother with no lagg keep in mind that the Galaxy S2 is still running 2.3. So I don't know why Google put a older less powerful GPU

  • Every phone have some lag... thats a fact...

Have been testing this and the lag seems to be somewhere around 2-3ms. My Note around 3ms and my s2 around 2ms.

  • the lag is there because you have everything crammed one a single page. A simple fix would be don't put everything on a single page and if you still choose to do that download nova launcher zero lag.

  • how is this called lag? as long as the phone doesn't hang and freeze and gets me from app A to app B and back into my pocket without having me curse my head off and chuck it on the ground several times, it's a good phone.. I've seen the iPhone lag several times and same with the iPad.. I've had several instances on an iPad 2 exiting the mail app and the screen freezes until the battery goes out.. at least on android, you can perform a battery pull

  • android is has lag, and Google probably won't fix it because that would mean every app in the android market would have to be rewritten. The lag that he is showing is exaggerated, but its still there. I don't have a problem with it and I own the galaxy nexus. Sometimes it gets REALLY annoying in the browser. But that is only when I'm loading a big web page on 3G. Once the page loads completely, then its all good and immensely smooth.

  • I have owned several flagship Android phones over the past 4 years and won't be switching to anything else based on overall, positive experiences. With that said, I do agree Android is often laggy. While this video exaggerates it, it is noticeable. In fact, I do daily reboots to try and minimize it which doesn't solve it all of the time. Android still needs to obtain that "polished" feel of that *other operating system.

  • part of it is INTENTIONAL to make the movements of the homescreen "feel" better to use. if you use a 3rd party app that directly shows the touches on the screen guess what? NO LAG! and WP7 lag is EXTREMELY bad... highly biased video...

  • Either way Android is better hands down!

  • lol! What a useless bias video .... if sopa passes i hope they censor your channel

  • Ah CRAP! The galaxy nexus has 4.6 miliseconds of lag. Now instead of buying that I'll just buy the phone with 2.7 miliseconds of lag and a 3.5" screen, no LTE, and a gigantic ball and chain attached...

  • Big deal... It's an incredibly minor draw back which is made up for in androids superior functionality (widgets), bigger screens, customizability and freedom on the device. If pretty looks mean more to you than a functional phone, then stick with the garbage iPhone. Even windows phones have tiles that update to give you information, like android widgets. On iPhone you have to open apps just to.get the same information you could get from glancing at an android or windows phone.

  • What android lag? I dont know about the Nexus- My galaxy s2 is underclocked to 1ghz and seriously undervolted, and running Golauncher, with some widgets and a live wallpaper, there is absolutely no lag, the screen shifts with my finger no matter how fast I move it.

Only lag I know about is a half-second wakeup lag, doesnt bother me at all.

I can play a game while listening to the music player while I unrar a movie While tTorrent runs on the background.

  • Yup, classic android lag. Some people don't mind it some do. In my opinion, android is too inconsistent and never really takes advantage of all the processing power. I personally find that I OS and windows mobile OS have better functionality and are more consistent. At the end of the day reliability wins. !

  • Try to remove the widgets on the android first, secondly its unfortunate that the othwrs dont have the dot indicators so we cant really see. That would be more conclusive

  • @pakerzzz ypou're right. not having the dot indicators when demoing the iphone and windows 7 devices makes this an incredibly biased and 100% erroneous comparison.

  • I just enabled that "show the touch points" on the latest ICS leaked Samsung galaxy s2 rom, and on this beta (the beta is quite unstable and not as fast as gingerbread), but the touch points are way more responsive looking than what they are on your galaxy nexus, and in they keep up almost perfectly on fast swipes.

  • Good explanation, but it doesn't bother me at all.

  • I dont thing that the Lag is a problem, it seems that Android people design the system that way.

  • first?
