Damn it, I can't believe it. I saw Gary in early 1990's at Unverisal Amp. Threater in L.A. Albert Collins joined him on stage. THE best show I've ever seen. After that night I told everybody about Gary and insisted they listen to "Still Got the Blues" & "After Hours" or they couldn't be at my house.

Being hung up on his skin colour rather than WHO he is. Of course, if you'd said, for example, "that old guy" I'd have felt the same - it's the great Albert King and he deserves to be referred to with respect rather than "described". The man is a legend and a brilliant, soulful player. As is Gary. They had much respect for each other.

Might I suggest you simply enjoy Albert's original version of this song and leave Gary's alone? Albert certainly liked this cover (and it made him a lot of money), but there are less white folk in the original, if that makes you happier. Then you can let those of us who also enjoy this version do so.
