  • W00t?

Explain me this... There is no GUI configuration panel in gnome ?

  • ooh bin too!

  • It is gconf-editor and NOT gconfig-editor like he says in the video.

That tripped me up for about 15 seconds while I googled it.

  • I use Ubuntu Tweak to move those window buttons on the right side. Great tweak video, though.

  • Excellent!

  • this was actually stupoid, i mean putting the buttons at the left. i don't know why ubuntu guys did that..

  • @martmelee It's only personal prefs. what you like. But UI-way it IS better to have them to the left. Consider where the text mostly is and where the mouse is in a window. If you use scripts that is right-left orientated, like arabic or hewbrew(sp?) text, you want have it the old way.

As usually, you can always change them as you like. But I think they will use the window bar for status information in the future, so it will be better this way.

  • you can take lucid of the title and just put ubuntu and mint.. because.. this works with all distros based on debian.... that's only if you want to..

  • ubuntu, I think you put the emPHAsis on the wrong sylABLE. Good tip though.

  • @carlsontechnology do you know Zulu?

See wikipedia: Ubuntu_(philosophy) for a video with Nelson Mandela pronounce Ubuntu.

  • Nice, thanks.

Is there any way to move the window title to the center? I like it more that way.

And by the way, where's Shawn?

  • "OOH-bin-too" ? ahahahah

  • @xwicked7

    OUUUU-bin-TU

    wtf!!!!!! I was like *facepalm*

  • @SuperKittyPancake

maybe that's how Canadians pronounce it eh lol

  • Nice tip, thank you.

    BUT

    Where's Shawn Powers????

  • @penguinistas Yes, thank you and all. But where's Shawn?

  • thanks for that tip.

  • I'd rather check out films by Kris, lol

  • Looks like your running an alpha version of 10.04, that was how the buttons were laid out back then. Now it is still on the left side but the order is close,minimize,maximize:menu...

  • @tad1073: Yeah, I made this video a few weeks ago. Sorry about that.

  • Nice video. A few days ago, i made a video on how to do it with ubuntu tweak :)

  • i just clicked on the New Wave theme that has buttons on the right by default and went customizing from there.

Anyway what do you use for screen recording that run so smooth?I just found vlc to work for me so far (still doesn't record audio tough).

  • @KladionicaCity: gtk-recordmydesktop, which is a GUi front end for recordmydesktop :)
