I'm an awful sitar player myself. I play in a Beatles cover band on a 3/4 size cheap ass sitar, along with a Coral electric sitar and an electric tanpura made out of a Beatle bass. I always warn true Indian classical music lovers to Not attend our shows. We have a Wonderful time, and our audience does too, but we wouldn't know a Raga from a Ragu sauce, and Never pretend we do. Y'know, Charles Schulz drew lousy beagles too, but Snoopy made people happy. All music need not be Transcendent.

I abhor master musicians who'd gladly smack someone for hitting a sour note. You heard Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Da Ni Se, right? Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do? notes to a chromatic scale.
