Has losing your depth perception hindered your geocaching abilities? Just curious. Glad to see you recovered well and was able to get back to what you love!
Thank you, Jeff, for showing us your bravery. I am older and want to push myself a little. Nothing compared to what you are doing. Hope you are doing well. 1500 caches. Wow! When I had one eye covered after surgery, I could barely tell where things were. Carry on Jeff. :-)
Hi I am having my eye removed in two weeks thanks for your video journals it is helping me see how long the recovery time is. I had melanoma 10 years ago and the radiation caused glaucoma so I am now taking it out.
That is awesome.. 8 days after surgery!! How many caches have you collected since? Glad you jumped right back in. I know this is a little cliche but, what does not kill us makes us stronger. Good for you!
Stumbled on your video by accident...my cousin, Doug had the same issue with melanoma behind one of his eyes. At this point, with 1 or 2 surgeries, he still has the use of it, but it is touch and go. I'm glad you are doing what you like in a nice area.
I'm used to going on 5-10 miles hikes, but I was only able to hike 2 1/2 miles to grab this 1 cache in the Sandia Mountains before I wore myself out. Going down the trail was much harder than going up with 1 eye!!

No.
I don't find urban caches anymore, just the ones in Wilderness areas.
