  • This song is from the time when the games had epic soudtracks. ( GOOD TIMES )

  • thanks Manfred !

  • i feel that i can built a rocketlouncher wit a bubble gum, 1 piece of stone and a empty cola can :-)

  • Mad synth riff!

  • Your most recent comment in response to my post to Sega Fanatic has been deleted. I replied directly to it. Don't know why you are acting like you didnt post it. It's all good.

  • Sega Fanatic, the Genesis was great, but you are omitting THE major flaw with the Genesis- its strange, fuzzy, video output. Its like it puts out some kind of resolution to that the TV cant properly display-- when its graphics scroll from left to right you can see what I mean-- the pixels have this weird crawl. This happens in EVERY Genesis NTSC title (not sure about PAL). Composite or not, makes no difference. It looks like shit compared to the pristine video output of the SNES.

  • @roman6a

Its not "graphic errors", its the way the system was designed. Its why the SNES has much sharper visuals right out of the gate. Kiss your mother with that potty mouth? You should be ashamed of yourself. I dont need or want "advice" from you pal. I'll post what I want, when I feel like it.

  • @neff128 what? i just posted an HQ comment about 240p being better than 360p, plz explain to whom are you replying to because i have no idea of what the hell that comment means and i think you mistaken me from someone else

  • 240p -HQ-

  • Great!!!!

Música tremenda con tan sólo 4 megas que tenía el cartucho.

  • so fucking good.

  • there is a game called Hurrican for pc, it's a indie remake of this game, it's pretty cool actually

  • This sounds like the Theme to Macgyver

  • @RainBird88x lol turrigyver

  • @RainBird88x Awesome, I'll forever imagine its Richard Dean Anderson trekking through those labyrinthine caverns in that Turrican suit for the rest of my life.

  • i'm can downlaod the midi file of this song?? did u know where is the tabs?? or doesn't exists?? thanks !

  • @rockletsroll *coughHERPADERPcough* you can look on the description...

  • i used to record snes music on cassette tapes and listen to them on my walkman.

  • @raziomolus Same here! Back when I was around 12 in 1993. :)

  • @raziomolus WALKMAN?

  • @raziomolus those were the days…

  • @raziomolus here the same :D

  • @OhGodNo666 Alright then. It was fun debating with you.

  • @OhGodNo666 The character designs may be nice, but the execution of them in the actual game are crap. So I take this as you like the concept art and assets of Final Fantasy VI. Story and Characters are nice but you can't expect an arcade shooter to have as much of that as an RPG. The difference in Genre determines how much of that there should be.

As for music, Nobuo's soundtrack is nice, but Thunder Force 3's Soundtrack is pretty incredible too. What you deem better others might not.

  • I remember my childhood :D

  • omg i played this game 17 years ago, i was 4 Years old :)

    Awesome.

  • ONE UP!

  • this game was amazing

  • Mega Drive version has more mood and atmosphere, possibly because the percussion and bass are far superior.

  • Typical to the SNES tunes, the drums sounds off, MegaTurrican for the Megadrive sounds better.

  • 1UP

  • Megadrive version is more good

  • Power up

  • Chris Hülsbeck FTW!!! :D

  • The synths are good and clear but the percussion is crap.

  • I love this track, both versions have their own personality. Brings back so many memories...... *tear*

  • Yep, far better than the Megadrive version, the sounds seem to be much better equalised and finer. The Megadrive version is a bit too heavy on the drums and synth. I don't think it's cleaner at all, just louder! And the drums sound slightly disjointed and a little out of sync..

One of the all-time great video game tunes!

  • sounds nice to the point where it all gets ugly and muffled.many snes games have awesome music but bad interpertation of some instruments.like on 1:07 where all the soul get's ripped out from the song rest is good.i prefer cleaner genesis version.

  • I love this song.

  • Super Turrican of Super NIntendo, one of the best soundtrack for a videogame!

  • Sounds good, I can't decide which version I like more they're both so amazing!

Although I got a special kind of affection for the MD version since that's what I played in the 90's, and I respect Hülsbeck a lot for making such good tunes despite MD's limitations (unfortunately many other composers/devs weren't as good with the chip as Chris).

But tech and skill aside, both versions are truly excellent :)

  • The beginning of this song is super catchy and awesome...but then it kinda gets blah...

  • This riff reminds me of the one from Felix-Don't You Want Me a bit.

  • @RetroGameDemon It sounds cleaner, not better. And cleaner is not always better :). I often prefer the grainy sounds of a NES to any SNES game :).

  • I have to wonder how Chris composed such a epic tune without help from Hubbard or any other epic chiptune composers.

  • @poopskinTheLiar: Huelsbeck is a legendary chiptune composer in his own right, he doesn't need "help".

  • @inphanta Chris Propably eats a special cereal composed of SIDs, SPCs, PAULAs and other assorted sound chips for breakfast. :p

  • @RetroGameDemon It's not better, but different

  • Don't really like this version, drums aren't as good, main melody doesn't have as much brightness and muffles out on some parts

  • 1:07 "tears"

  • I like the foreground music to this version, but I prefer the drums on the Genesis version.

  • This is a really good game but its too underrated

  • it sounds so retro :D

  • Power Up!

  • ou shitt dude this game brings back 20 years old memorye's i'm feeling like a little child again this is awsome that you put it in youtube

  • this beat totally rocks! maybe someone could remix it??

  • Just a great classic

  • i need 3 soundtracks

    1 stage 3 boss head

    2 stage 4-1alien ship

    3 stage 4-3 alien ship

    have someone that tracks???

  • all the sound track reminds of 80s work out videos... "left left left left switch right right right right and jumping jacks 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4"

  • old memories =)

  • This tune is sick.

I want to rip this one on guitar :D

  • <3 everthing to do with turrican

  • um after thatcomment i posted 2 months ago whith six thumbs up im not sure how many im gonna get for this but i think super turrican is better than super metroid

  • Esse som é animal ! Muito bem construido e bem estruturado .. muiito bom !

  • IMO, Mega Drive/Genesis version is better. This one sounds too techno-y to me. Except the part starting at 1:06. That part sounds awesome. :D

To be fair though, I heard the Mega Turrican version first.

  • This doesn't sound right. It's missing some music.

  • Yeah, half the song is cut out. If I recall correctly this wasn't a full-priced game when it came out. It was kind of a budget release crammed into a tiny 4mbit cart.

  • This sounds so much better than the Mega drive one.

  • uhhhh I dont want to kill the vibe or piss you guys off, but as an Turrican lover i played around with this music and found out that if you pitch the song half an step up it sounds a bit like the MacGyver theme :S

  • lol, after even more fiddeling around it sounds like macgyver even without the pitching :S

  • This is such a good soundtrack it`s sounds make me think of Jean-Michel Jarre ....yes it´s that good :-)

  • souvenirs !

  • memories <333

  • Track's called Bionic Action, ported from Turrican 3. Turrican 3's version had a little more dynamic drum track but this one definitely has better sounding instruments in my opinion.

TSSF turned me onto this song and Chris Huelsbeck ;) Check his profile out.

  • oh, i didn't knew about those little facts. thanks for pointing them out. :)

  • The track sounded a bit like "The Desert Rocks" from Turrican 2. Interesting, though...

  • that's just his style.

  • Damn, I love this track!

  • ENJOY :)

  • This really is great music!

  • I honestly think Super Turrican had better music compared to 2... I dont know why... I just enjoyed the first one's music the most.

  • Definitively.

Really good what Chris Hülsbeck pulled of, also in Turrican 2, which had a more atmospheric, yet awesome, soundtrack, too.

  • I just love it<3 its sooo retro
