  • got this complete with the postcard that went with it - a treasured possesion

  • best thing out of edinburgh since the m8 to glasgow..

  • Bloody hell this is a lovely song!

  • one of my all time favourites YAY!

i just love the quirky style of these Scots.

  • I always thought that Manchester's Big Flame owed a huge debt to Josef K too,

  • Josef K is one of my favorite bands and Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities, great memories!

  • Lovely. This song is playing in my head whenever I'm walking in the Old Town. Reminds me of a sunny day on Cowgate - beautiful in a gritty way.

  • You can find it on the Young And Stupid compilation, which has two versions of C.M. on it.

  • Where is this recording from? And is a decent quality mp3 available? It's the best version of Chance Meeting I've heard, but I can't find it!

  • No finer city than Edinburgh in the summer, tho this was probably filmed in the winter, but the real question is really, is it or is it not, does Paul Haig sing or not sing : "We talked for a short while/snuck forward and touched your hand."

  • LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this song.... if only there was more of this kinda music around today

  • I wonder just the same thing...

  • I wonder if this song was inspired by Roxy Music's "Chance Meeting".

  • To chyba nie mój typ...

  • I think this sounds a lot better on my turntable, cranked up really high. great vid tho.

  • Thanks to Propagana i've discovered this white funk band. Sory for laughung.I love their bass.

  • ......a timeless old Scottish stuff

  • I love this band. I discovered them through Pandora. Hopefully I can get a hold of them on vinyl.

  • brilliant! i have got the 7" with postcard.

  • i wish there was a dvd of this and some live perfomances.. that would be grand

  • Amo questo sound maliconico!

  • congratulations. today this video was selected by the NYC Punk Rock Evolution Foundation.

  • This song reminds me of the sad partings we've all had to have taken in life. Really stirs the memories

  • totally.

  • Awesome stuff!

  • great!

  • yay I've still got the original post card in my single copy...

  • One of the great and very underrated bands of the Post-Punk era!

  • I saw this referenced in an article on Postcard in the Guardian. They bungled the link, so I decided to find it myself... and it was posted by you! Nice work. This is not the first time the internets have led me to Ceci.

  • Beautiful scratchy melancholy.

  • I wonder what you guys think of Aztec Camera

  • Ah yes, good old Josef K. Franz Ferdinand probably would'nt have had a career if not for these Scottish Punk heroes of theirs.

This is one of my many Saturday morning songs.

  • 79 or 80 I read Haig was seriously believing he is a ladybird ! No joke; he referred to Kafkas "Die Verwandlung" and claimed the same happened to him. Don´t know, whether he was in psychiatry later. Anyway, I like that Josef K stuff.

  • Nice song, but the video is shite

  • I own this on postcard records along with sorry for laughing. It's also filmed on calton hill edinburgh where I take my dogs for a walk everyday. great song, great venue.

  • The fucking, glaringly indie, symptomatic fucking business. TUNE!

  • I wish this was in better quality. This is one of my all-time favorite songs.

  • Mine too from Josef K. The trumpet gets me every time.

  • Not wishing to blow my own trumpet - yup sorry... but i was the trumpet player!

    not lyin by the way!

  • I believe you! That's actually the best part of the song in my opinion.

    :-)

  • Alistair. I believe you mate.

    Are you still playing cricket?

    How you doing pal?

  • Love your horn work, what were they like to work with? I think they're great.

  • I think they are great too!

I was at high school - they were rock'n'roll!

  • I think this band are being deliberately obscure - I think I shall alienate them, there it's done. They shall never have mass appeal, and they shall feel sillier and sillier as they grow old forever trying to squeeze the toothpaste back into the tube.

  • I don't think it was deliberate - however, Paul Haig and Malcolm Ross are both very intellectual gentlemen and I think some were definitely intimidated by this.

  • I met them - I can't say I noticed, at least they never said anything intellegent let alone intellectual, maybe they are saving it up for the big Parkie interview - oops too late!

  • Being a big-time Josef K. fan myself, I was pleasantly surprised in finding the piece uploaded here - a big thanks for whoever took the time to upload it here. cheers, s., rio.

  • hey - my uncle made dat video :D

  • you are bluffing!

  • i so am not

  • oh,yeah?how do i know that?i mean there aint no proof,right?!

  • i dont even care wat u think, so shut up

  • I *love* this video. I know about Josef K, but can anyone tell me any production details? Shot on what kind of colour film? Made for any particular reason? Where was it shot?

  • Calton Hill never looked better. Brilliant!

  • What fantastic memories this brings back!

  • dope

  • Eeeek!

  • Absolutley incredible!!!

  • saw their last gig in glasgow think it was maestros (cotton club or wotever its called noo)and met paul haig in the bue lagoon chippy afterwards, billy sloan in a stookie and edwin collins floating about us a false start by the band.

    ah the memories.

    ah the memories.

  • I mean, the only thing worth listening to in any rock song. If it doesn't have that, its shit.

  • dope rhythm. Like I always say, rhythm section is what makes all rock music worth listening to.

  • This could be the beginnings of indie music. Joseph K were full of idealism. The real deal! So much so they sabotaged their careers. And this song is post punk at its best!

  • A masterpiece of Post-Punk music and moving pictures. Thank God for Scottish 80s music.

  • so it's real !!!
