I think the series set itself up for a sequel. Who says Sisko can't come back after a year or two, and at the news O'Brien comes back. Rom, Quark, Zek, Bashir, Kira , Leeta and Nog would already be staples. Perhaps Sisko says that "such and such" must be done as the Prophets decree. Rebuilding Cardassia could be a plot point, and the Breen/Jem'Hadar could be the enemy still. Even Odo could return at some point. Introduce a few new characters to the mix, and it's good to go.
Note there are changes. Worf left because he became an ambassador. However there are novels with him in it. Kira is the new head of DS9. Ro Laren is at DS9. . Section 31 novels exist btw. Elias Vaugn is heavily involved in the The Lost Era novels.
Check out the IKS Gorkon series where you see what happened to the first officer of the Klingon ship that Riker was on. But before that he there in a Next Gen novel Diplomatic Implausibilitywhere Ambassador Worf is involved.
Plus you should check out the Brave and the Bold series. A number of the books are I think out of print. Used book stores and Amazon.com should have them for dirt cheap.
:44 "Have a seat." LMAO I swear I could never get tired of that, along with Zek's other flirtatious antics. Armin is right, Wallace Shawn is a wonderful actor :)
LOLZ..... wallace shawn, and armin shimmerman are AMAZING actors. the characters, are very believable.... it's ashamed DS9 didn't run for a few more seasons:(.... they certainly could have.
Are you joking? It ran for the same duration as TNG, despite the fact that DS9 had 40% fewer viewers. DS9 was on the verge of cancellation until Worf was added.
@Cocknockerofl Oh, didn't know TOS was canceled. Then again I never had the chance to watch it all, which, ironically, the Tribble ep was my first.
To not stray off though, you are right. Looking back, DS9 has been the most stable with a solid conclusion to everything of the series. I like to think it left us a tresure; good memories of a wonderful show out of the Star Trek series. I grew up with TNG and DS9 during junior and high school so yea, DS9 counts for something :)
Inconceivable!

Armin kinda looks like a Ferengi even without makeup.

Why was Rene Auberjonois playing the bodyguard of the Nagus? Didn't he also have to be Odo?
kmg4 2 years ago
He wasn't, Maihar'du was played by Tiny Ron.

Your point?
TOS was canceled
TNG was almost canceled in its early seasons
VOY was almost canceled until 7 of 9 came on board
Enterprise was canceled
Every Star Trek show has had its brushes with failure. DS9 just happens to be one of the three that DIDN'T get canceled. That counts for something.

They totally were erogenous zones. It's amazing the number of masturbation jokes with which they got away! Hilarious stuff.
