On the issue or immigration- if you made it tougher to immigrate wages would go up however I beelive the real issue- is the amount soend on social programs they are a big portion of the US budget and in discorage people from getting jobs. Look up Milton Freidman on immigration.

If we had no illegal workforce (who can take their paychecks to another country where it's far more valuable) those fruit growers, etc., would pay what they should have all along. In this economy there's not enough people in this country to take those jobs? You're living in another world.

Americans are LAZY. No one wants to do manual labor, everyone wants to get paid to do absolutely nothing. I've spent some time picking fruit. It's hard thankless work, and not worth the minimum wage I was getting paid LEGALLY. Instead of venting all your anger only at the people trying to scrape by, why not put some of the blame on the large corporations who screw over Americans by sending the jobs overseas? Those Nikes and Gap jeans you're wearing are the real cause for people being unemployed.
