@nopsychos2 I am trained Radiation Emergency Management and the Info I am interpreting from the news is that this happened ( and this is pretty typical of most Nuclear Power Agencies around the world including US) due to something no one could ever predict. An earthquake combined with a Tsunami. It has never happened before. Normally an earthquake on the surface doesn't have an aftershock that causes a Tsunami. It just doesn't happen normally, but this was a 9.0 quake something that hasn't been-

The quake shut down power to send water to the reactor core and then a backup generator but Tsunami took that out. So now its just pumping water with batteries but not by much. @nopsychos2 I am trained Radiation Emergency Management and the Info I am interpreting from the news is that this happened ( and this is pretty typical of most Nuclear Power Agencies around the world including US) due to something no one could ever predict. An earthquake combined with a Tsunami. It has never happened before. Normally an earthquake on the surface doesn't have an aftershock that causes a Tsunami. It just doesn't happen normally, but this was a 9.0 quake something that hasn't been-

@bailong329 seen since the 1908 San Francisco quake but even that one didn't have a Tsunami wave. The quake shut down power to send water to the reactor core and then a backup generator but Tsunami took that out. So now its just pumping water with batteries but not by much. So from what I described the system only anticipated a quake not a DOUBLE WAMMY disaster like this.
