  • I knew this video would be good when in the first 5 seconds she was jumping rope with the most beautifully pointed and extended toes I've seen on someone that young.

  • @cchellzz No, this does not. Actually being flexible is really good for the body meaning stretching. When we were all born we were all flexible putting our feet in our mouth and as we get older we loss that flexibility unless we continue to which is why ballet, gymnastic...etc.

  • @ctillman0 my mother was a pointe ballerina and i have multiple family members who did dance, gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics. it has damaged their bodies greatly, especially their joints.

  • @ctillman0 Being too flexible is damaging to the body. The tension in our muscles provides support to our joints. Decreasing the tension decreases joint support and muscle strength which leads to injury. Also, many of the moves and positions in ballet are unnatural which is why so many dancers have career ending knee and back injuries. We were never meant to walk, much less dance, around on our toes - if we were, we wouldn't need special (toe) shoes.

  • @GinaMasera Actually flexibility requires having muscle. So being too flexible isn't damaging to the body. That is why contortionists are so strong, because it takes a lot of muscle to be really flexible.

  • I used to be able to do the thing when you flip your legs over your head (oops dunno what it's called) and I never was in gym or ballet. But now I've got some lower back fats eww gross and I can't do that thing anymore. Oh well I guess that's what puberty does to you LOL. And my oversplit is at most a 135 degrees (right front only).
