The Song is "Old New Hampshire" so yes, a very old and long dead person wrote it. Just like the "Star Spangled Banner". I beiieve it was written in 1906 by a New Hampshire Doctor. They lyrics can be found online, I caution liberals some of they lyrics are controversial, such as "God in his great wisdom, made the rugged Granite State" Wow, sexist and montotheistic huh? I like it's quiantness. New Hampshire Natrually is also "the unoffical" State song, another sleeper, but NH's not NYC.
the seperation of church and state is violated once again in the awful lyrics of this sleeper...as much as i love this great state with its unique polical working and views, i feel a change is needed to better represent the present day.....and btw, i really miss the OLD MAN
what violation? there is NOTHING, anywhere, that says that there is a "separation of church and state." there is, however, a clause in the constitution that says that our government CANNOT impose ANY official religion OR prohibiting free exercise thereof.
let me add: NOWHERE, NOWHERE, NOWHERE does any official u.s. document say ANYTHING about the separation of church and state.
Verse 2: Builded he New Hampshire glorious From the borders to the sea; And with matchless charm and splendor Blessed her for eternity. Hers, the majesty of mountain; Hers, the grandeur of the lake; Hers, the truth as from the hillside Whence her crystal waters break Chorus: Old New Hampshire, Old New Hampshire Old New Hampshire Grand and Great We will sing of Old New Hampshire, Of the dear old Granite State
Here are the lyrics: Verse 1: With a skill that knows no measure, From the golden store of Fate God, in His great love and wisdom, Made the rugged Granite State; Made the lakes, the fields, the forests; Made the Rivers and the rills; Made the bubbling, crystal fountains Of New Hampshire's Granite Hills Chorus: Old New Hampshire, Old New Hampshire Old New Hampshire Grand and Great We will sing of Old New Hampshire, Of the dear old Granite State
I'm a Granite Stater, and I really love living here, but honestly the state song sucks. I'm not musically inclined, but dear god, could someone who is please compose something better?
HA! kick ass, I didnt even know we had a song or a flag til just now and I live here xD I've seen the flag places though, I just never paid attention I guess

@Stabu Anyone but this one. It's a great state and a great motto, but a terrible state song. It sounds quaint and cheesy.
