Feral kittens can be taken from colonies when they are under about 6 months old and easily domesticated. This guy looks to have a good life, but he would live twice as long if he were inside. Anyway, terrific work with these two.
my mum tells me this. "if you give a cat food and water, you're signing a contract to take care of it forever"
hence the feral cats who show up at our back door for lunch and dinner. I've only successfully tamed 2 brothers...they both died in 2003. They were 10 years old, I believe.
I like you! To tame any animal you just need to offer them food from your hand until they learn to trust you. When they know you intend them no harm they will trust you.
i really like how you helped the cats, are both cats still around?i had a feral cat in my backyard and it had kittens and i was able to catch 1 and he turned out to be a awesome cat, also if i ever see ferals again i am going to TNR them and then feed and shelter them, thanks for posting video
@digger678 Both cats live in the front yard. They come in to visit and play in our entryway (inside) at night, but sleep outside. They both get flea treatment and fed with an autofeeder. There is a koi pond in the front yard that they sip from. The little kitty is very coy and will only allow us to pet her when she is under a certain bush. However, they are both very talkative and friendly - though I doubt anyone will ever be able to pick up and hold either.
Toms will often "capture" females for their harem, but thank goodness you fixed her! And the tom as well?

Capture, inoculate, domesticate. House cats have self-domesticated to a point that they really can't survive without humans.

were you able to catch him? it would be great if you could get him now before he becomes anymore feral! Old Man looks like he's a Maine Coon...
