  • they look like schoolboys ...or am i just getting old i bought it when it came out

  • This was the number one song when I was born :)

  • You have a clock on your video.

  • beatles shouldve kept it

  • birds sing out of tune, and chemtrails hide the moon

  • This is a really good song why has the world been violated with teen shit

  • @whatacrank Because we've started downloading them illegally.

  • I was 5 or 6 years old when this song came out and in the 1st grade. This song most definitely takes me back to that age and grade in my mind and always leaves me feeling good. One of my favorite songs.

  • A #1 hit for Peter & Gordon in June 1964. It also hit #1 in the United Kingdom and on the Cashbox charts.

  • i was in grade 6, 11 years old at that time, when this song came out, it was sung by a friend of mine in school's program, unfortunately he died recently OMG

  • Where is the electric guitar?

  • @steppedinit exactly !! Also, the guitarist on the electric guitar was playing the nicer chords and fills. But Peter and Gordon did have great harmony, and did this song justice.

  • McCartney wrote this, but can you imagine the Beatles doing this song? Did they ever record their version or just let Peter and Gordon do it. P& G did a good job on this song. But if the Beatles did it, wow! It would have been unreal.

  • Cute:)

  • I remember at the Friday night dance in 9th grade this song was playing when I brought my girlfriend punch back and she was dancing with Steve Harshberger so I got his coat and put it in the urinal and everyone pissed on it all night; now he works at walmart tire center and I lmao when I see him.

  • A world without love is a world without god, Sadly they will be a place without the presence of god, Appreciate wat you all got right now in his presence.

  • Gordon guitar string is break X)

  • Wonderful!.. great rendition and performance!

  • Paul McCartney wrote this, and gave it to Peter & Gordon. this was the era The Beatles were writing so many songs they had extras they didnt need for their own albums so they gave them to friends. Peter Asher is Jane Asher's brother, and Jane Asher was Paul's girlfriend in the early Beatles days- so it makes sense that Paul gave Peter this song

  • Paul McCartney did not wrote this son it was writing by Paul Hamilton Williams (born September 19, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American musician, songwriter and actor.

Paul McCartney not even pay guitar when the son was wrote.... Laran before you post

  • @c12h22oh you are mistaken and shouldnt accuse other people of not doing research before posting when u clearly did just that. . If you don't beleive me go look at the Peter & Gordon album liner notes/ LP cover where every song says who wrote it. "A World Without Love" was ecorded by Peter and Gordon in 1964, BUT The song was written by Paul McCartney; attributed to Lennon/McCartney. see LP itself where it says Lennon/McCartney google a photo of the LP or go to wwwDOTjpgr.co.uk/col_db7225.html

  • A World Without Love" is a song recorded by the English duo Peter and Gordon and released as their first single in February 1964, reaching number one in the UK Singles Chart in April. The song was written by Paul McCartney[1] and attributed to Lennon/McCartney.

  • This really brings back memories! Great stuff - and all too rare to find voices that harmonize this well together. Simon and Garfunkel and the Everly Brothers come to mind.

  • Chad and Jeremy also had a song "No Other Baby" which was written by Paul McCartney. The song was featured on a "Dick Van Dyke Show" episode.

  • I didn't know that Lennon and McCartney wrote this song, but no wonder I loved it so much! Now that I know, I love it even more.

  • JOHN AND PAUL ARE JUST "OVERFLOWING" SONGWRITERS.........THE ROLLING STONES GOT ONE AS WELL.

  • I love the lyrics

  • I wait on someone telling me their burger ism best.

  • Compossed by lennon and mccartney

  • How i'd like to live in 60s!!!! I'd buy a guitar and sing

  • Great song!! Thank you performers Peter & Gordon. And thank you writers John Lennon and Paul McCartney!!!

  • Paul McCartney wrote this song

  • this is gonna sound dim, but this is Peter and Gordon Asher, right?

  • @lazymadonna Peter Asher and Gordon Waller.

  • @georgecolombo aw right....thought it was Peter Asher and Gordon Asher (but i've found out there's no such person as Gordon Asher :P) thanks anyway!

  • i wont stay in world without love.

    GOD is LOVe

so im oK..aslong as I live..i kno he lives too

  • @1billion1deaths1 I completely agree. I appreciate what you said. I believe God is love too :)

  • @nck08 God is love...u cant love everyone without loving God,and u cant love God without loving everyone. its just isnt real.

  • @1billion1deaths1 so true. :)

  • This song was composed by Lennon-McCartney.

  • Billboard's 150th #1 hit of the rock era. God bless! RIP, Gordon Waller.

  • @LWflute, Really..... maybe he was going to get laughed at by the crass John Lennon. But the story was that this song was a heart break song and was too bitter to sing so it was give to P&G to sing. A gift perhaps.

  • gordon still acts like a hobo in this video. doesent cut his strings

  • reink011 I think Gordon is the one on the right. He Died 2009 aged 64 in Connecticut,

  • Paul got a kick out of writing this song because the first line of the song is "please, lock me away" and he couldn't imagine anyone singing that line and he used to crack up when he heard Peter and Gordon singing the opening line. He did it write for them because he was dating Peter's sister;Jane.John used to tease him about this song, especially the opening line.

  • @Beetles41 when paul played this song at abby road for the beatles to gather their responce they howled with laughter. to which john responded..." you need to be locked away alright!".

  • wow their harmony is flawless! such simple music but so beautiful <3

  • Hey, this song and P & G were a BIG hit back in the day. None of us knew at the time that Paul McCartney had composed the song or that Peter was the brother of Jane Asher. (Yes we did know that Jane was McCartney's g.f.) This is great music, yes? Paul gave it to them because he knew it would never go over as a Beatles song - John would have laughed him out of the room had he proposed it!

  • Hard to believe that teenagers once looked, dressed and acted like that...like a different planet.

  • You can tell this is a Beatles song. But this is very nice nonetheless.

  • I love this song,it gives me a stiffy.

  • @pocodog1... Sorry if I'm laughing my head off, but we've just had two people who had a misunderstanding and were so mature about it, top marks to them, then you turn up and start playing with yer pecker!.

Not whilst I'm eating me crisps please poco.

  • this is my fav prison song,so proud inmate 994352

  • Paul McCarthney Wrote This Song, It Was Given Away Because John Lennon Made Fun Off It.

  • I had 2 play this song 2 calm my nerves cause a couple stupid people on u tube just pissed me off with their comments. I know that a strong man can resist emotional hurt from words but fuck, why do people say & think the stupidist stuff? Let me shake it off!

  • its always funny to me when people disparage music from today...they sound just like their parents must have about the beatles & rolling stones

  • @kobe1413 no way! i don't think anyone from my parents' generation even knew one song from their parents' generation back in the day. the 60's and 70's were actually pretty unique in that 40 and 50 years later, the songs are still on the radio. Whereas, pre 50's popular music would just disappear from the spotlight forever after a few years. it was rare that someone's kids would like the same music that they did when they were kids back in the early 20th century. at least from what i've learned

  • most of peter and gordon's videos i see are live performances, which was brave and way beyond the norm for that time .... always liked their simple harmony and easy going songs .... was a very good era to be a kid in!

  • I wish this could be the music of today!!!

The music of today is so mad and poor!!

    This is realy good music!!

    5*****

  • First of all good song, second, beever cleever is totally sitting in the front row, third of all who the heck is playing that guitar solo?

  • @elDiabloBobbie .... beaver, ya mean .... and no clue!

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperKarend

Woah, what is that attitude about? I never said I didn't like the solo, I very much like the solo, it just doesn't look like anybody is playing it, And I just said that one of the kids sitting in the front row looked like Jerry Mathers. Did I sound like I was being mean? if I did sorry.

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperKarend

    S'all good.

  • A 5* pop song, seem to remember this, they were performing at The Shepherds Bush Empire in front of a Crackerjck audience in 1964 !.

  • FACT: the beatles wrote this song ,because peter ,in the glasses, was the brother of jane asher whom was dating paul mccartney during that time. that is why the beatles sang it too. I LOVE THE BEATLES I AM SUCH A HIPPIE!

  • Truly a great song

  • great song

  • the bloke on the left looks a bit like lennon.

  • @greenflip78 Never noticed but he totally does look like Lennon, especially his profile at 1:48. Crazy! Love this music!

  • nice music! This kind is so good! Nowadays any person that can say "ooouuoououoooh" can sing -.-

  • It's summer 1963, I just installed an AM radio in my 57 chevy, turned it on and this was the first song. I'll never forget it.

  • This song is one of Paul McCartney's best early efforts at songwriting. He occasionally wrote songs for other performers, but kept his best material for The Beatles. I've always liked this song. It's not a truly great song, but it's a nice one.

  • @Arcturus121 come ad..paul was shagging the red heads sista and threw the lot a bone

  • Why is this in the beatles playlist?

  • @noobzftw1 Because Paul wrote it.

  • Wow they're like The Beatles... only 2 of 'em instead of 4 :D

  • @jackbliss indeed.

  • @jackbliss thats because Paul McCartney wrote the song for Peter and Gordon

  • I know we all sound like the adults we used to make fun of when we were growing up. But damn, songs from this era were so uncomplicated and innocent. Beautiful harmonies and words you could actually understand. I miss those days greatly.

  • This takes me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back ....summat like 13 years old

.Jeeeez do I know how old I really am now?! Creepy!! ;-)

  • I grew up in the 60's and it had the best of everthing.

I miss Cousin Brucie playing all the great songs on CBS.

  • They don't make good music like this anymore. It's all shit nowadays. Same thing with government.

  • Definitely worth getting stuck in my head :)

  • Bring back the days when comb-overs ruled.

  • Lekker nummer :)

  • and then we have the new day in a America. Oil spills and nature.....

  • I love this song of peter and gordon. There are the kind of song that you could really call MUSIC.Thanks for the upload.

  • I'd rather here a song like this than any other. Of course I was a bud then.

  • the lyrics to this song are so poignant. i've always been a fan of this sweet, sweet song.

  • I was 14

  • Sad to hear that Gordon died. He was one of my idols. It's another great British Invasion artist gone. You'll be missed by those of us who remember you and Peter.

Thanks for all those 11 great Capitol Lps

  • i love paul McCartneys cover

  • @CANONSHOOT32 Paul wrote this song and gave it to them. This is effectively a cover.

  • @CANONSHOOT32 Paul McCartney didnt cover the song. He wrote it .The fact was, back in the 60s everything music was The Beatles.Paul McCartney once said in an interview that any of their songs would be a hit even if it didnt have The Beatles name written directly on it. So for an example, this song was given to Peter Asher (of Peter and Gordon), whos sister, Jane Asher was dating Paul McCartney. Song becomes a hit, with the Lennon/McCartney writing credit.Just letting u kno so ur not confused.

  • @DaGGortiz Well thank you for taking your time clear this up for me. I really appreciate it. I learned something new haha. But regardless, this is a great song!

  • who of those were the best singer?

was the ginger one the second vocal singer normally?

  • Man I LOVE this song!

  • lol they are total Beatles wannabees.

  • I agree with you, reink011. We lived in a good time with good music!!!

  • iLOVE this song!!!!!!

  • listen also to the mavericks

  • where did this kind of music go to?? Music nowadays is talentless! Long live the days of peace love and good music<3

  • ah, couldn't agree more! :)

  • @BridgLovesBeatles You are so right. Music has been dumbed down.

  • @BridgLovesBeatles

They cannot - most of them - even sing!!

  • @BridgLovesBeatles My question exactly! Im no expert but the "singers" of today have no range, the producers wont record anything that kids 18-24 dont like. If it isnt hip-hop or rap crap they wont pay for studio time. Thankfully the real music can still be appreciated. I cant listen to gaga or any of the others because it all sounds the same! sorry for the long diatribe

  • @BridgLovesBeatles some of us appreciated it saved it and treasured it and probably gave it to their childrens childrens children

  • @BridgLovesBeatles

    I am with you 100%

    Jimmie Lotus

  • @BridgLovesBeatles agree 10000%

  • @BridgLovesBeatles I bet in 40 years from now people will say the same thing about todays music...LOL. I remember my grandparents thinking that 60s music sounded like jungle noise.

  • @MrMfloor I hope not. I don't want my children singing my generations music *shivers*

  • @beatlesholic13 why im 16 and prefer this to most of todays music :)

  • jedward eat your heart out.....

  • Bobby Rydel also released this song in late 1963 or January 1964. He shared the Number One spot in America with Peter and Gordon. Both versions are good...thanks Paul!

  • You're partly right. According to SecondHandSongs(dot)com, Peter & Gordon released this first, on February 28, 1964. After that, it was recorded by someone named Terry Black, and then by someone else called Roger Webb and his Trio, and then by the Supremes. Bobby was the fourth to release the song, in late 1964.

  • Thanks for the info. That may be correct. However, the three you mentioned did not fare well on the charts...even the Supremes. It was Rydell and Peter & Gordon who took this song to the top.

  • You're welcome. No, they didn't fare well. I just mentioned their names because of the natural tendency to ask, "Who were numbers 2 and 3?" Look up the name Bernard Webb on Wikipedia. That is the name that Paul McCartney used when he gave this to Peter Asher when Paul was dating his sister, Jane. He was thumbing his nose at journalists who said the Beatles songs were only popular because it had their names on it. Peter waited for it to become a hit and then said it was written by Paul McCartney.

  • Once again you have educated me! That is interesting...thanks so much, my friend.

  • 0:49 he looks like Lennon! hahah.

  • @carrrlie youre right he realy does yeah yeah yeah

  • @carrrlie dam u are right

  • Oh, they were cute.

  • gordon <3

  • Classic!

  • the beatles actualy wrote this

  • Gad I wish I could say I was born in the late 70's early 80's and dug the music of the 60's, but sigh I was in high school. I forgot all about this duo until a net bud brought this up to me.

  • Also, the one on the right was the model for Joe 90 lol

  • looks like the one on the left is playing a Gibson J160E like John Lennon. Dost thou think he borrowed it?

  • the 60's was my time, shame i was born in 1993 :') i couldn't be much further out of my time, hahaha :)

  • you and me both buddy

  • ahaha, its unfair isnt it!! i spend my days listening to my dads Dylan records like 'why... is lady gaga really the best thing this generation has to offer us!' :') lol!

  • @Erin1193 sad isnt it, but ofcourse when we were listening to this music, our parents were prob sayin the same thing lol

  • i get what your saying, but this kind of music requires talent... now you can just do it all on computer. i've taken music tech a-level and managed to make my voice sound good on computer! :')

  • I love this. They look so young!!

  • when did gordon die and how is peter doing

  • 60s were my time. shame i was born 1987

  • my daughter was born in 1987 and loves the songs of the sixties. she want to play all of my old vinyl records.Love the Beach Boys too!

  • RIP Gorden

  • the 60s was my time,shame i was born 1983.

  • When you get older, you love this kind of music more and more

    R.I.P. Gordon

  • @reink011 Gordon died in my hometown :(

  • @reink011 I´m agree with you; I live in México and love this music because is my past. I´m 57 years old now and I can´t forget when I was youngest (sorry my English) Bye !!

  • @reink011 Ain't it the truth:)

  • @reink011 Ain't it the truth - this music, like love, is gentle:)

  • @reink011 That is SO true. By the way, which one is/was Gordon and when did he die? he couldn't be that old, pity. Lovely tune though ...

  • @reink011 i still think that way

  • broken strings will really screw up your act

  • Listening to them makes me feel young again...they were two of the best from the British Invasion. Great memories! RIP Gordon.

  • yeah its lennon and mc cartney gift to them.

  • Rest in Peace Gordon

  • Is it true that Lennon & Mcartney wrote this song ?

  • yes it was written by paul when he was going with gordon asher's sister jane

  • It's Peter Asher

  • Yes but it's 100% a McCartney song

  • RIP Gordon Waller. You and Peter were certainly an important part of the fabric of the 60's scene with 9 "Top 20" hits including this song which was a #1 hit on the USA/UK charts over just a few years.

  • I'm pretty sure the correct lyric for line 16 is

    "When she does, I'll know."

  • Gordon Thank you - beautiful melodies

  • Yes, they harmonized extremely well.

  • well said mate.
