"Undated"? This talk went out during the interval of a Radio Three broadcast of an Amadeus Quartet concert, so it should be possible to pinpoint the date - I'd guess early 1972. My back numbers of the Radio Times don't stretch back that far!
Thank you very much for posting this recording. I remember listening with great enjoyment to Hans Keller's illuminating BBC radio interval talks during the 1960s and 1970s, and it's wonderful to be reminded of some of them again. Is there any chance of posting more? And is the text of these talks available in published form (they don't appear in his Collected Essays published by CUP).
@teagueqc Plumbago Books (having already produced a couple of books of Keller's previously unpublished writings) apparently plan to make at least some of the radio talks available in book form, eventually. It is always preferable actually to hear Keller's inimitable voice delivering these marvellous, provocative talks, though - I do hope more of them are posted here soon!
@BarbaraAnnLovegrove I agree with what you say about his voice - although it's so bound up with his writing style that I find I can almost hear it as I read his prose on the printed page! However, the convenience of having at least some of the talks available in a handy volume for reference purposes would be very great. We must wait and see whether the planned publication comes to anything. I hope so.
