@typeclash Fedor and Gegard are from the same camp, Red Devil Fight Club i believe. Fedor's upcoming fight was to be in California, and the RVCA training center is located in Costa Mesa. I believe Fedor was stopping by to say hi and work on a sponsorship deal with RVCA.

if you understood the nature of the contract you would see why fedor avoided overeem. if he had fought overeem and won, he would have had to stay in strikeforce under the strikeforce championship clause stating that any fighter who is champion of the heavyweight division, must remain with strikeforce until he or she loses, or fights a given number of fights in defense. Fedor will go to the UFC after he defeats werdum in early 2011...his manager made that pretty obvious in his last interview.

Anybody who thinks what Fedor did was easy, is an idiot. 10 years pro, he fought at a time when nobody had a clue what MMA, or UFC was. Fedor fought all kinds of fighters, in a large range of weight classes, he won every time, Lesnar vs. Fedor would be a good fight, but I'm sure Fedor would clip Brock early.
