  • It uses USB 2.0 capability compared to SL!... does this mean less latency ?

  • reply to reboygtr, all the effects on the djm 800 will work on any system that you use as its only applying the effect to the sound coming through the channels, not to the sample or track being played direct.

there arent any effects in serato mate, you have all the functions that a cdj has if you use the relative mode, loops hot keys. serato is only a digital transfer software - recreating the exact same effect and feel as either a normal record, or as if you were using a cdj with a normal cd.

  • Does the effects, both normal and the sound color,on the DJM 800 work in Serato or do you have to use the effects in Serato,if there even are some?

  • i used to have both sl1 and sl3 and to tell u the truth, in a club environment the sl3 sounded a lot better than the sl1. another plus was that i used to have drop outs occur when the latency was about halfway to left with the sl1 but not with the sl3, i run it with the latency all th way to the left (minimum latency if any) and for the past few months since it came out, i have had no problems at all. the thru feature is great and theres less of a mess cables wise.

  • I just tested out the sl 3, sounds slot more crisper than sl 1, and I am using a non digital dj mixer :)

  • i have the sl1 and have used the sl3, personally the only people that will notice a difference in a club is a professional sound engineer, there a few more options with the sl3 like the record and thru. replying 2 salboogie, with the drop outs,it should be ok if you increese your buffer size and decrese your audio cache. for me the sl1 is sound, cant see the point in spending another 500 quid for the sl3 as the sl1 does everything you need it to and theres not much difference in clubs.

  • thnk you for this insight.

i was thinking to spend money on an sl3 and selling the sl 1.

was thinking the sl3 had a boost in sound or something like that.

  • @djbeenie1 hey, thanks for help nd advice soo far, lol, nd sorry for askin question a full year after ur post, but on rewinding, pausing, cue, scratching ect, is sl1 as responsive as sl3? i.e if u pause on sl1, will it pause the track out-puttin via laptop a 100th of a second late or anything like that? and does sl1 and 3 share the exact same software, including version?

  • is there any problem with the output level on the SL1 to begin with? just wondering..

  • no problem

the video shows how much the 10db more output from the sl3 is in reality use

  • sl3 is a watse so far for me i had sl1 and got sl3 now i get drop outs on my mac pro with the power plugged into it ...im pissed

  • @salboogie Hey man, so are you saying that you never had issues with SL 1 on your Mac Pro? I have one and am thinking about going with the SL 1...

  • @Capo21282 everything is working fine now i use the power adapter

  • @salboogie That was the solution eh, thanks.

  • It does not look like the SL3 is much higher than the SL1? It that your point? How does the actual audio sound? Thanks

  • @ Home no difference between Sound of SL1 or SL3

I will test it at a Club next week..

  • Cool Thanks.
