I play BFBC2, & a lot of the guys I know say they don't like the Operation Flashoint series because, "It's too realistic." Seriously?! I would buy the new Operation Flashpoint, if it had multiplayer, but it doesn't. However, I think I am going to buy "Dragon Rising." I welcome a REALISTIC first-person shooter. I hate the arcade-ish games that run-and-gunners thrive in. I would love to play a game that you actually have to use real tactics & the goal is to STAY ALIVE while helping your team.

@Aifor70 Dragon Rising is a great game for co-op and PVP, and single-player, it's a game that I come back to again and again, Red River was not nearly as good. BTW Red River does have multiplayer... co-op. TBH Dragon Rising is not that realistic of a game compared to the original OF and the Arma series... if you want real realism get one of the Arma 2 games.

@Aifor70 It's always hilarious when someone bitches about how something is TOO real. This game doesn't have the "best" anything, but it's a great game. It's a one-of-a-kind console experience and it's highly over-looked, under-appreciated by Call Of Duty girls, and majorly under-rated. It's one of those games you can play again and again and find new avenues to explore and experiment with. I highly recommend this game to those who want something more than COD and BF.

Game is basically a demo, only 4 maps for MP. Extremely buggy, v-bad AI and emensly laggy (and considering it's only 4v4) FAIL. And v-awkward MP lobbys. Could have been amazing but CodeMongsters have dropped all support on this title to make Red River, so they can pinch another 40bucks out of you. If you wanna try this game don't spend more than about £6 on it (eBay) because you might feel like you have just been raped if you do.

@markod2002 You can buy it for the PC where almost all of your issues have been completely resolved via mods ESPECIALLY the AI. Its less than 7 dollars american for a new dragon rising PC copy atm, and considering how much better the game is from the content PC has to offer, its a steal if you haven't played it.

If you get it for xbox/ps3 though you don't get any more than what shipped but its only like 12 bucks.

@Jamjor - yeah it is worth it. lot of people complain 'bout shitty AI and that you can not drive a lot vehicles and so but if you think of it infantry units are not trained to drive and shoot tanks or helos.

also i ddi not encounter too great problems with the AI. a better milsim game you'd get is ArmA 2 on pc.

i would advise you to play this game since it gets you close to real combat.

Cool vid, shows nicely the actual gameplay. I wouldn't think of playing this any other than hardcore mode. It really brings up the fear-factor.

@kuratomi9091 Have some respect for the game. OFPDR is a unique game, you don't find another like it. Indeed ArmA2 is much more realistic in some areas, but it's still so far from perfect and reality. Let people play and have fun with any game they like, ain't that what games are made for?

i did some tests in the mission editor and this is how they came out:

40mm grenade fired from the m230 or the m32 mgl need to go through atleast 10 meters to arm, in this game it doesnt matter.

pistols have the a similar power as the m16a4 and m4a1, both shoot once in the chest, and that target dies, shoot in the leg with pistol 2 shots, with rifle 1 shot.

40mm grenades dead zone is from 0 to 6 meters, it should be increased way alot more.

wound zone is from 7+ meters....

@kuratomi9091 regarding pistols, the only downside is that they have lower range, the enemy takes about 4 clips to hit you atleast once or twice if prone, sometimes they will go lucky and kill you as soon as you start, if crouched they will take atleast 2 clips, if standing up 1 clip as maximum and if they are blind fags 3 clips....lucky shots may always happen, that is 1 shot kill as soon as start.

I thought the one thing that sucked about this game is it takes about 5 or 6 bullets to kill an enemy, but only takes 2-3 to kill the player you are. I mean once this dude was laying down and I put round after round in him and he just wouldn't die

Easy, Cause this game sucks ass ;) i bought it for the pc and it doesnt even come with a serial or security like PB. So i could have just downloaded the game and spend my money on MW2 or something. Second sometimes it needs 6 hits before an AI enemy gets killed. No dedicated servers so lag everywhere. No gear lead out..not able to pick your fav weapon and gear. Its a direct port of a xbox in the pc manual first u see is the xbox controller keys config. No lean like u said. and other bugs etc.
