Intelligence and confidence is always so attractive. I miss living in America. Great thing I am moving back this March. I can't wait. Thanks for the cooking tips.
I really love this easier recipe for this dish. My Pakistani friends showed me their way to make this and it was very good. But I tried your recipe and just added one clove garlic chopped and also some garlic ginger paste (love the ease of that stuff) and had it with a bit of mango pickle on the side to dip some and bhatura bread. This is alot easier than their recipe and tastier I think too! I can't wait to have them try this version out! Thank you so much and yum!!
I just made this, except only thing, I didn't have much corriander and i rinsed the lentils. Excellent flavor, also I didn't add more water...had it with my frozen naan that i heated up. This was very easy. I will be making this again! Thank you for the great recipe and this video...great instruction and you are such a cute lady :)
Thanks so much for the instruction. I made this as my first Indian meal I've prepared. I substituted olive oil for the butter and whole canned tomatoes instead of fresh. I also added a can of tomato sauce instead of the extra water. It turned out great! I also added some curry paste at the very end before mixing with the lentils. YUM!
So glad I stumbled onto this recipe! I used to do one that basically said to cook the lentils with the tadka but it was never as bright and vibrant and delicious as this. I had to adjust the ingredients slightly for what I had in the kitchen, which meant green lentils, canola oil, no asafetida/hing, no mango/amchur, and no cilantro, but my spices were all still freshly toasted and ground. There are many ways to make curry, but if don't grind your own spices you're doing it wrong!
lovely recipe, but you forgot to wash & soak the toor dal, there may be some pesticides, its better to wash no matter whether you bought from america or europe country. Anyways its up to the individual, i like this video.
Looks delicious to me.. I'm not Indian but love indian food, I'm very new to it - but absolutely love it.. You did a great job at presenting and cooking, and I can imagine your kitchen smells so good. More recipes please..
