  • Jabba gets destroyed in every video I see of him. This was a good edit, you actually make him look half competant. I wonder how many hours you cut.

  • And may I add that a single white male who is unemployed in Norway, or Belgium for that matter (they are many more) get a far more generous welfare check than one in the UK. Yet they don't seem to have a "benefits culture" that is often propagated in the UK media. More "socialist" countries if i dare use that expression have far less problems with unemployment. IF they see to people on a needs to needs basis instead of condemning them. This is wholly observable across the EU.

  • I find the word "nationalist" alarming in any political party and it has overtones with a certain political party of 1933. SNP & BNP wow the letters do look similar don't they ?

  • @ChrisMycock It's a good thing they're not called the Scottish NationaIist Party, then. Ghandi's political party was called the Indian National Congress. Mandela's is still called the African National Congress. The SNP aren't exactly identical to those parties, but is much closer to them in outlook than it is to the BNP or those guys from the thirties and forties.

  • SNP leader Alex Salmond says that an independent Scotland would continue to use sterling as its currency, but only until “it was to Scotland’s economic advantage to join the......EURO.......”!!!

Man, what a legend he will be remembered as.....

  • @arjoj10 Must admit, a Unionist did make me laugh earlier today when he said: "Scotland shouldn't join the Euro. It should stick with the Giro." Hehehe. Insulting, I suppose, but witty and entertaining. If only there were more like that.

  • mr salmon, why is it that the snp who, being such a supporter of education and reducing class sizes in scotland, have NO teachers for some primary classes in scotland? My kid came home with a note advising me that Primary 3 had no teacher and that other teachers and school support staff were acting in this capacity until a 'solution could be found'. Graduate teachers cannot find jobs and now that supply teachers are on the bottom rung of pay scale they are rejecting the jobs. WELL DONE SNP!!

  • FACT: Fewer than 23% of Scots voters put the SNP into power

FACT: Around 33% support independence in Scotland.

salmon does not represent the views of the scots majority. This will be illustrated when he finally runs out of steam in 2014.

  • @arjoj10 Very true. Scotland will not leave the union FACT.

  • Q. If independence is such a straight forward ‘yes’ then why wait for the referendum?

    A. Because salmon wants another year in office before getting the punt which he surely WILL get as he will have NO AGENDA left.

  • While a minority in Scotland support independence, the Scottish Government continues to spend taxpayers money (including money from England, Wales and Northern Ireland) to make the idea more appealing to Scottish voters. This is taxpayer money, paid for by a population that is largely not in support of independence, that goes towards what is a party issue.

  • 09 January 2012 - David Cameron has frustrated and angered the independence movement by making the audacious decision to give them what they want. Those wishing to break up the United Kingdom were shocked and dismayed when news broke that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom may invite them vote vote on breaking up the United Kingdom within just 18 months.

Why isn’t this an early Christmas for independence supprters?

  • Now that the polls are in, alex salmon will be chumming up to his mates down south to see if his referendum can be put to the vote in england. Latest polls now showing the majority of scots wanting to stay in the union, while the majority of english want the scots out! He's more popular in england than scotland! What most munters here can't grasp is the voters wanted to punish lie-bore in last election & could not stomach tories. Hence the salmon crowd got in thinking scots want independence.

  • Man is a legend

  • Alex Salmond is the man to set Scotland free from a currupt, debt ridden Union. In the Act of Union 1707,Scottish politicians where bribed into joining England, which saw Scottish towns filled with riots. In 1979,the majority of Scotland voted YES on devolution but after these results where announced Westminster stated that the vote had to have been won by a 40%. The Union is currupt and Scotland has felt the wrath for centuries. Time to set this rising nation free!

    Alba Gu Brath!

  • @aggromanandy Ayup cock! Ayup!

  • @arjoj10 Think your keyboard is broke kid.

  • @arjoj10 I see the keyboard is still not fixed, kid

  • @aggromanandy Ha!! can't wait to see your (damp) squib go off!

  • @RichardElden Thats a bit harsh richard, no need for that, better to let him spend the rest of his days on a desert island with nicola surgeon.

  • here's what you do as salmon, just lie and state any fact that supports your claim... its a win win situation for salmon, a LOSE LOSE for scotland!!

  • @arjoj10 You really don't make the union very appealing, you know. In fact, you present it as being the refuge of very frightened, insecure, resentful people. Is there anything in the union that for Scotland to look forward to? A change in the pipeline that will give us an accountable, democratic Westminster, perhaps? Anything in the works that will transform the UK into a forward-looking, optimistic, egalitarian place where the parental pocket doesn't increasingly determine destiny?

  • Alex salmond is a racist shit

  • @agro382 Yeah he's so racist! Leading Scotland to a better future is soo racist. Grow up and accept that this man is the voice of Scotland, that has failed to have been heard in Westminster for centuries!

  • @aggromanandy Here's what you are going to do. You are going to 'ride the wave' of scottish nationalism during 2014, the anniversary of the battle of bannockburn. You will then vote in favour of an independant scotland. If successful, it will begin to dawn on you over the following months, that president salmon has got his figures wrong. It may take a year or 2, but eventually they will go cap in hand to the EU for financing. But the EU will not be interested in propping up failing economies.

  • @arjoj10 Really? and is this you're crystal ball thats telling you this? Scaremongering stories go in one ear and out the other. The fact is the we are told that England pays so much to Scotland to keep the country running, yet they are trying to hard to not let go of us. Unionist need to start harvesting real facts and not fantasy stories. I've not read one thing that makes me want to stay in a currupt Union.

    Alba Gu Brath!

  • He's a smug, sleekit, wily bastard, and he's OUR smug, sleekit, wily, cogent always-thoroughly-prepared and witty bastard.

  • @jistaface well get used to your benefits being reduced mate.

  • @arjoj10

I dunno why you think I'm on benefits - not that you had any way to know, but I'm not. Actually, I'm a capitalist through and through. It's perfectly possible to be a capitalist and not need or want to rip people off or punish them for being poor, as well as not to resent people for being reasonably well off.

I don't understand all the anger among English people. England has the government it elected, doing exactly what tories always do. Why so angry we chose different?

  • @jistaface I'm not enlish mate, I am scottish and british and do not understand what your problem is. National identity for scots?? what as pissheads and louts? Wool weavers and whisky makers? Okay so they have some dwindling oil reserves, mostly sucked dry by now, where are you going to get your energy from or the money to buy it? What 'industry' is there in scotland? manufacturing? NO Finance? Maybe, but nothing in that for most. What then? Most schools are appalling there as well.

  • @arjoj10

I'm very surprised you claim to be Scots while at the same time referring to us as "they". You also seem to have such an anachronistic and stereotyped view of who Scots are, it makes me doubt you've actually lived here.

Whisky is the UK's fourth largest export: not trivial.

Tourism is big, as you know.

We grow more food than we import.

We're a net exporter of electricity. And water.

And Scotland is, in fact, even post-Thatcher, more highly industrialised than England is.

  • Paxman: *Fuck, how do I respond to that...?*

  • If you want to pay £10 a pint like in Norway or Eire, have 25 percent unemployment like Spain, riots in the street in skint Greece and get financially bailed out by the EU like Italy, Greece Eire and Portugal then by all means vote for independance. At least my tax wont prop up the disgraceful abuse of the welfare state in my homeland. Scotland needs to be in the UK.

  • @haroldbhoy67 I love using the argument of Norway (which btw has an unemloyment rate at 3.7%) seeing as, in proportion to the average salary of Norwegian, alcohol is not that expensive. While alcohol is certainly taxed here more so than in other countries (which can be justified by miles under a welfare state, in my opinion), it is nonetheless funny to use Norway as an example. Oh yes, poor old Scotland if it becomes independent; it may rise to have one of the worlds highest living standards!

  • @LucidCatnap I admittedly have never been to norway (I cant afford it) a friend of mine who did said that in Oslo in addition to the high living standard, low unemployment and expensive beer there was also a high proprotion of prostitutes and people offering drugs in the street whislt bravely enduring sub zero tempratures? To pay for the Scottish welfare state pints of lager would have to cost about £30.

  • @haroldbhoy67 Like any capital serving as the country's largest city, Oslo has it's problems. While prostitution really is not that common compared to many other cities such as Paris or even London (prostitution in Norway is strictly illegal) - drugs are, though they are really throughout the world. Sub-zero temperatures during winter is also quite normal, and just as the UK Norway is relatively mild during summer because of the gulf stream.

I don't see how any of this is relevant, however.

  • @haroldbhoy67 The point of the quite high level of taxation on alcohol and tobacco - where the price of tobacco is still on par with the UK in proportion to salary - is to finance the extra costs associated with the use of these drugs, and to an extent encourage people not to use them.

The point is not that Norway's solution is necessarily the best, but this is the justification for the taxation, and I don't see how that is an argument against the model itself as if cheap beer was a given.

  • @LucidCatnap The point is that Salmond etc like to use countries like Norway and Ireland (before the meltdown) as examples that Scotland could go it alone. Beer is just an example for comparison (an important one though, HaHa!) as I understand it groceries, eating out, houses etc are all very expensive in Scandanavia? And that my friend despite what everyone says is what everyone really cares about..money (and beer!!)

  • @haroldbhoy67 And as I have tried to explain - in proportion to income - it is not expensive in Norway. Though it is thought of as more expensive by quite a few Norwegians; it more reflects the differences in living standard. This is why Norway is not too different from the other Scandinavian countries and countries such as Luxembourg and Switzerland in terms of relative price, though it is true alcohol and tobacco are slightly higher taxed.

  • @LucidCatnap "The point of the quite high level of taxation on alcohol...is to finance the extra costs associated with the use of these drugs, and to an extent encourage people not to use them"

The unlooked for consequence of a high-tax policy is that governments (in general, not meaning Norway) start to become addicted to the revenue!

Scotland's government tried to bring in slight variation to avoid both addictions - a minimum pricing law to stop alcohol being sold below cost as a "loss-leader"

  • @haroldbhoy67 At least at £30/pint that should stop the friday night slags and pissheads staggering outside the POW and other suchlike pissholes. Maybe even stop the relentless ranting on about scottish football which lets face it is absolute shite. Mind you, there's always model airplane glue.

  • @haroldbhoy67 I seem to remember some riots in the streets of the UK recently, our unemployment rate is rising (and is only kept relatively low by cooking the books), and Ireland and Iceland (as well as Norway) all have better standards of living and higher average GDP than the UK, even after their "economic collapses". No offence, but I will be voting for independence. One of the things the UK should stop doing is insulting other countries before putting it's own house in order.

  • @HerryBawsack No offence taken Herry. The riots in Greece were as a result of a very different situation than the UK. Ireland is in economic meltdown(like Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy, and I fear Scotland on its own) propped up by the EU. Try going to Ireland, iceland or Norway for a short break? Top tip, take plenty of money! Salmond is conning all of you mate (or rather the 28% to 38% who support independance) Turkeys voting for Christmas. good luck anyway, genuinely you`ll regret it..

  • @haroldbhoy67 Glad you can debate the issue without anger, Haroldbhoy67, and good luck to you too in everything you do! I disagree with you about Salmond, but I know he's just a politician, and will make mistakes and do things I disagree with at times. After independence the SNP will not necessarily be in permanent government. The figures on Ireland, Iceland, and Norway come from the latest OECD report, and show them all being ahead of the UK in real terms.

  • @haroldbhoy67 yes, the cost of trying to bet back into the union after president salmon has left with his golden handshake and the country in ruin, will be more than 'face'. It may very well be that you will not be welcome back after all the whinging on and on about scotland being 'free'. try living in saudi arabia to understand what free means.

  • @haroldbhoy67 Have you lived in Norway? I had the privilege of working in Norway, and the standard of living is very high, and my purchasing powers were far greater than It was in the UK, some of most tranquil moments in my life was during that period. You are being dishonest. Greece etc have high austerity becuz bankers run wild unregulated, not because they are sovereign. They gave away their sovereignty to maniacs like Goldman Sachs. Your points are mute, and kind of desperate.

  • SOAR ALBA !!!!Vote YES!!!!

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would rather pay more tax to an independant Scotland where my money was spent in Scotland, rather than paying tax that goes straight to London!

  • @aidanstirling You just don't get it do you?

  • good evening

  • Aww.YES!lol...Great vid Bawsack! Slainte!

  • @RichardElden It would be highly amusing, not just for Scotland but for the world as a whole, to see this free, egalitarian, and democratic British state, which all our fathers fought for, openly blockading it's own naval bases, stopping it's own trade, and imposing no-fly zones over it's own airfields, simply because it refused to acknowledge the result of a legal referendum mandated by a popular vote. We'd know where we stood then. Your argument for full independence is very persuasive.

  • alex is 'the big yin' i met him in falkirk high street he was interesting to talk to and not only listened to my concerns but answered well and sent a letter to confirm his answer. its an independant scotland for me. DONT VOTE LABOUR FOR YOUR PARENTS, VOTE S.N.P FOR YOUR CHILDRENS FUTURE

  • @james24387752 Damn, I missed him. You're lucky James, and I agree, Independence is the fitire, and the future is bright.

  • @james24387752 It's good to see the minority on here trying to support independence. It is calming and reassuring to see that those in favour of independence are resorting to youtube postings to voice their opinions while the educated mainstream ignore you. I go on here to have a go at your lack of anaylsis and wind you up!

  • @RichardElden I long ago decided that it was not moral to engage in a battle of wits with an opponent who was not properly armed - so goodbye!

  • @sionnyn sorry sion, you lose.

  • @arjoj10 Whatever! The tide of history is running against you and you are not astute enough to realise it. Poor you, I say.

  • @RichardElden So you weren't joking? I agree that Westminster will try every dirty trick in the book to try and stop Scotland seceding, but they won't work! - the international community won't let them emulate Gaddaffi. And why on earth do you think that Scotland has any responsibility for NI? It is a problem of England's making.

BTW I am Welsh,. not Scottish, and hope that my nation will follow Scotland to freedom ( I wish the English well as well, all alone in the wide world!)

  • @RichardElden - good joke!

  • Jeremy Paxman is a twat.

  • @ElectricSexPants That does seem to be the case.

  • By a clear head the most impressive politician in the UK. And as the time for the Independence referendum approaches, his effortless insouciance , and the total disarray of the unionists - even their media heavyweights - becomes more and more apparent, and the YES result becomes ever more certain.

  • Good evening, Alex. Ehm, are you going to win this? "Yes!" Damn right, and he did win it.

  • Good evening, Alex. Ehm, are you going to win this? "Yes!" Damn right, and he did win it.

  • LOL! The Mortal Kombat fanfare at the end was hilarious.

  • LoL!

  • Alex Salmond is a Temporal Coadjutor. Does that mean anything to you?

  • @Islandretreat any proof of this?

  • Love the Mortal Kombat reference at the end lol, quite fitting..

  • pure genius i burst out laughing at the very end LOL !

  • He's a class act. In command of the facts and he can put down Unionist commentators at two paces. No other politician in Scotland (or England or Wales or NI) comes remotely close.

  • @globaltraveller There was another great bit in that interview where he stops Paxo from interrupting him yet again by saying: "If you listen to my answer, you can patronise it afterward." Even UniPax had to laugh at that one.

  • @globaltraveller

He's a self obsessed, self promoting Nazi.

I hope you get Independence then we can stop Scots coming to England. I'd pay more taxes to have a toll at the Border. They will never get any money off me why would I want to go to Scotland? It's a miserable grey place with some miserable grey people with a very strange one eye view on history.

  • @999Dempsey

I hope so too so I don't have to encounter people like you!

  • @999Dempsey How is he a Nazi?

  • @999Dempsey Absolutely dempsey, and I'm a scot as well! they have been conned into believing that scots pay more tax per capita than the english, and that the scots subsidise the english!!! WHAT A JOKE!! They seek independence but have NO industry to speak of. they'll just end up another failed EU state looking for handouts, except none will be forthcoming from england as they are not 'in' it.

  • @arjoj10 Another "Scot" who forgets which pronoun to use.

This reeks of desperation. You guys will have to do better.

  • @globaltraveller .Facts??? Is this the same facts he says about knife crime dropping,or education getting better,or health, another issue he's failing at! My cousin was stabbed 3 times in the back a while ago,do you know what the accused was sentenced to,6 months,6 FUCKING MONTHS! He's not bothered if he leaves Scotland bankrupt and up shit creek aslong as he has independance(oh,and his £10million+ renovations to his own castle at tax payers expense). Happy job hunting in the mean time though!

  • @MrNodzilla Sorry to hear about your cousin MrNodzilla, I thought it was an automatic six months for carrying a knife nowadays - haven't checked the laws in a while though. Obviously I disagree with you about Salmond, job growth is higher in Scotland than elsewhere in UK now, has been for months, and it's not like Labour or Tories would be doing any better. An independent Scotland won't go bankrupt - look up the McCrone Report, it is still true today, and oil will last 50 yrs at least BP say.

  • @HerryBawsack okay bawsack, you'll struggle for 50 yrs THEN you'll be broke. the diff with labour (hopefully not) or tories is they would still be in the union and better off with more international influence. There is no industry in scotland, not much to sell. Your labour unions have seen to that. salmon is quite simply a liar and fixes the figures to suit his quest for the presidency. end of.

  • Alex Salmond will be Scotland's First Prime Minister followed by our first Female Prime Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.

I really would love to see the looks on all these bitter unionists, most of all Paxman when the people of Scotland vote YES in an independence referendum.

  • @glasgow1234 Hope you're right, mate. I think you might well prove to be. The only real worry is if Whitehall does a Willie Mcrae on him. Given the wealth that's at stake, I wouldn;t put it past them.

  • @glasgow1234 HA!! You think the English will give a fuck? Believe me, they'll be GLAD TO GET SHOT OF YOU. The ;laugh is that the day after your referendum 'victory' you'll wake up with a hangover, read the morning paper and say "WHAT THE FUCK HAVE WE DONE???"" And I'm a scot as well. The man is not a legend, he is a fucking TRAITOR and should be shot. The only scots who don't like the english are POOR scots, and as usual think they are owed something. See how much the EU will give you fuckhead.

  • @glasgow1234 nick surgeon is a fucking moron determined to win her own personal slice of scottish history. He wants to be 'king' of scotland, and she wants to be president.

  • Keep Salm and Carry On!

  • @dauntless111 Bloody hell, didn't know he was on T-shirts now!

  • @dauntless111

Priceless!!! I'm off to get the tshirt printed! ........'M'on the Revoloution! ;)
