I stayed at Zendik Farm near Bastrop for approx. 5 months many years ago. I did not find them to be a cult. Most of the people who showed up and left much much sooner than they thought they would were either A) taken off guard by how much work there was to be done, or B) unable to deal with the extremely blunt communication that they encountered, which often asked them to take a real hard look at things about themselves which they just didn't want to look at.
They are not a cult guys! Just because they do something differently does not make them a cult. I've been visiting the farm long enough to know that they get a lot of little fuckers who think too highly of themselves and have no intention to help out but to slander their name and tell a bunch of lies about them. how do I know this? Well this year two alcoholic bastards decided to do a documentary and tell lies on video. They embarrassed them and harassed several people and their neighbors.
I looked into joining them, even set up a visit but after more careful research, I discovered they are a full blown cult trying to control its lower class newbies, taking advantage of them. Who would want that? I wouldn't and decided to live free on my own. Now taking up woodworking and am self-sufficient, no longer work for "the man". Wouldn't have it any other way...
I get bored at night sometimes when I'm not knitting/sewing/doing my coursework... their website says they have that crapola jewelry in 130 stores now. I will bet anyone $500 that I can find those 130 stores since I spent six years finding stores for them to sell their shirts in. Anyone in for some fun? I have free long distance. Shall we start educating jewelry/gift stores nationwide about Zendik Farm and their true motives? Heheh, I always love a project.
One must wonder why a movement so rhetorically committed to the "truth" writ large-- would so obsessively scrub the record clean vis-a-vis its apostates? Cynical Orwellian tactics & motivations come to mind. All dissent is removed, and expunged-- it is never rebutted or confronted. Zendik just pretends it never was broached at all.
Their continuing court case will not be so easy to expunge though. When the records of the court are disseminated via the web, many Zendik sins will be revealed.

They have invented horrible lies (domestic abuse) to prevent another ex-zendik from seeing his daughter. They frequently shoplift from surrounding businesses. They manipulate the tax code by calling themselves a "school for underprivileged children." Hell-- they don't even educate their own children adequately.

ok i took the time to read several of the articles, honstly i didn't learn anything exept confirm the fact that their just farmers that most are mislead (I figured that one out by their newletters and programs always being late and about the same stuff, and crappy music that was usaly pretty old)but if they viset first and and do their reserch they should know that (i first researched it in 2002 thinking it be a nice place to go after i got out of the milltary, I since changed my mind
