  • came across an AC 30 built in 1964 a few years ago by chance. It neede a lot of care but now, i don't think i could ever sell it. The sound is just too good.

  • Sounds awesome.

  • god that sounds good!

  • Thank you for this.. what a beautiful amp.

  • LOL, Brian May licks are required in every Vox demo. Beautiful vintage amps, truly a labor of love.

  • HAMMER TO FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I got the limited edition in red. Just brought it home and am lovin it.

  • 1.50-2.10 mins...THATS the tone right there...beautiful.

  • i've got one of these! cool amp XD well it's not mine, it's my dad's

  • man do i love how ac30's break up when you play them clean. id give my left nut for this amp.

  • @calebsanchezmusic1 thats gross, but I too would consider that trade. and ac30's are AWESOME! wish I didn't trade mine :'(

  • nice chimy tone..what power tubes you got there??

    thanks

  • sounds awesome man!

  • I have a tweed blues jr and a 2010 ac30hw, they sound nothing alike. both sound awesome when driven really hard though. the vox is the best sounding non-boutique amp I've ever played through. it can get nasty and get twin like clean. the jr is a one trick pony, you have to drive it hard to get a good sound.

  • What voltage do you run your old ac30 on? I heard one can use a step up transformer and run it on the 245 volt setting to run the amp cooler by allowing the entire amp transformer to be used. I currently use the 115 volt setting but my wall voltage is 125 in NJ. Any thoughts? thanks

Yes, you are right, any EL84 and positif feedback amplifiers have a characteristic sound. Peavey classic tha I play, has a Fender Junior sound. But to my ear,

Vox ac30 sounds very different than Fender Junior . Bright, creamy, broad , a little bit lack of bass (with tubescreamer).

  • sounds like a cheap Fender Blues junior with a tube screamer to me

  • @1952Telecaster That sounds NOTHING like a Blues Junior...

  • @ferretjka Really, have you tried using a tube screamer pedal with a Fender Blues Junior or any other EL84 amp? This is pretty much what they sound like.

  • @1952Telecaster .....ac30 is crunchy potatoe chips...and blues juniors are soggy toast

  • @1952Telecaster LMAO

  • Heaven sound!

  • beautifull sound, This is the best records that I have seen at youtube videos of ac30s.

    Congratulation!!!

  • super amp, klasse sound und schöner hammer to fall part .Die alten vox amps sind und bleiben die besten.Ich hoffe ich komme auch mal an einen solchen heran als brian may fan.
