I was born 7 wks early. on tje 1st attempt at putting my shunt in i coded but came out of it ok. i've had 2 replacements since then (the most recent being this past January. When I was born the Dr.s thought i'd never walk or talk but i fooled them all!

  • Hello, I am working on a Foundation website about Hydrocephalus and I would like to use your video as a testimonial to help other people learn about this medical diagnosis. Please email me at TruFoto@hotmail.com if you could. If possible could you tell you story in the email so I can post it on the website.

  • You baby boy is absolutely beautiful and perfect just the way he is!!!! I wish you guys nothing but the best!!!!! That baby is so lucky to be loved by so many people!!!!

  • he's a pretty baby! Although I have wondered if it hurts them to have the fluid on their brain. When it swells up it looks so painful, but he doesnt seem to know it lol.

  • You have such a beautiful baby, my son also has hydrocephalus from an automobile accident when he was just 2 months old its a blessing that he is seizure free. He is a lucky little boy to have great parents!!!!

  • im was a peds nurse,and he is a beautiful baby,hang in there!!prayers

  • your son is beautiful i have a daughter also diagnosed with hydrocephalus early pregnancy i was too told she'd never survive, she is now 20months and is a very happy little girl she cant walk yet but we working on this toogether looking through this video reminded me of what i went through and to see there are others going through this and im not alone gives me confidence that she will be ok, i hope your son is well and continues this way xxxxx

  • I'm 31 with hydro and i have 2 kids who don't have it luckily...What an amazing clip...Brought me to tears if i'm honest...Having hydro has made into the decent/kind hearted genuine guy i am today as it makes me see life in a different light...Hope alls well and your all loving life as that's what lifes about...=o) X

  • He is a gorgeous little boy , I hope he is going well , And i wish you alll the best for your future

  • thanks everyone!! I appreciate all the good thoughts. Robert is doing amazin!!! I will update with a new video soon so everyone can see how good he is doing. Robert is now 17 months old and has learned how to sit and can hold his head very well. He is still not crawling but with his Physical therapy we are sure he will be doing so soon. He also has a helmet to help with the shape with his head. Since his hydrocephalus had made his head swell and his multiple surgeries he had a few flat spots.

  • Just a quick question. Do kids with this condition grow into their head (not meant to be offensive sorry if it does)? Just a question..

  • @W0nd3rw0m4n im not offended. you have no idea how many people are curious about that. i would rather people ask questions politely than make assumptions rudely. We believe that he will grow into his head. although the top of his head will always seem larger than normal. We wont be 100% sure until that time comes but either way he will be handsome and loved by many!! :)

  • You have a beautiful baby boy! He is definately a fighter but you are too! My son also had this (i had him at age 17) but he passed away 4 hours after he was born. And i dont think i could handle things as well as you have , but your video truely blessed me :) may God bless you and your beautiful family in the days and years to come :)

    Take care xx

  • He is just so gorgeous!

  • I was also diagnosed with hydrocephalus when I was an infant (around 6 months old), although the cause of it was not determined. It was something that just sorta happened. Although the doctors pretty much predicted I would have mental retardation, I've been able to lead a very normal life. I did take medicine for seizures and swelling, but stopped when I was 7 or 8 years old. Throughout my school career, I did have special ed services, but was able to "wean" myself off of them in college.
