Is there any naturaly occuring chemicals (without resorting to squashing fireflys I mean) that can be combined to create this effect? For instance is there anything that could have been conveivably been used by ancient people to create a fireless lantern??? Or even some sort of Mechanoluminescence that would work? I've heard of Indian Rattles with Quartz crystals that would cause tiny lights this way.
What's the longest we can keep a chemiluminescence reaction going for? any in equilibrium? I'm just curious to know if it could ever feasibly be used to luminate rooms etc. any info/links?

you probably will need a catalyst too. iron works, best is potassium hexacyanoferrate, IMO

bleach luminol and 1% H2O2

So luminol + 1%h2o2 and 0.01m NaOH

can luminol + 1% h2o2 luminance

you need it to be in a basic solution, so add some hydroxide.
