The cheating bastard was never really let off, they just dropped the main charge against him, because they could not prove he knew what was gonna be said in that conversation in Kiev. Of course they can't prove that if it was discussed in private where no microphone was recording. The charge that he gave the impression of match fixing was upheld. He got a very low penalty for that. A ban for life would have been appropriate, not six months of relaxing and spending the cash he got from cheating
