  • first time i saw this....i was hooked....

  • Dat Beulah!!!

  • I remember staying up until around 2 AM to watch this on some fucked up cable access channel in Florida when I was in middle school. I was positively apeshit for the old ECW, shame this is nothing more than a memory now.

  • @Flyersftw in Virginia ECW was also on some no name television station...the best part was there were no commercials!!! they would go to a black screen or something with a countdown til the show started. I fucking miss this shit man.

  • i was a kid watching ecw wwf wcw at the time but then that son of a bitch of vince screwed ecw and wcw

  • @mopaomokonzi78 lol vince was helping to keep ecw alive. he was throwing money towards them. if anything you should be thanking vince for keeping them alive a little longer.

  • @hit9uget9 your kinda right

  • Name of the song, please?

  • @VerdugoJP Beginning, Closer, By Nine Inch Nails. The song, Thunderkiss 65 by Rob Zombie.

  • To think I used to live a few blocks away from the arena.

I dont know what the hell WWE was tryin to pass off as ECW. I used to watch the original ECW and that was nowhere close. The arena was gritty, that same guy with the log hair, beard, and sunglasses was in the same seat each time, nowhere near the lame ass storylines you saw in both WWF and WCW at the time, the crowd going nuts singing along to Enter Sandman or when New Jack came down the ring with the trash can full of weapons.

  • @SnakeMan227 I remember that guy! Who was that? I always see him! If they ever make an ECW game that's from the original days he should be in the crowd.

  • @bmoreravens12 I had a friend when I lived in Philly that knew him but I don't remember if he ever told me his name. I swear he never missed a show, no matter where in the country ECW was at the time.

  • @SnakeMan227 He must be ECW's biggest fan. He must be dedicated to go to every show no matter where it was.

  • @bmoreravens12 ECW had alot of fans that attended every ECW arena show. You had Sign Guy, who would sit in the front row at every show with a sign, and right next to him would be Hat Guy, who NEVER missed a show, then you had The Long Hair Sunglasses guy, you had the guy that used to sit in the bleachers all the time in the Rams Jersey, you had "Mr ECW" Tom Misnik who used to to always sit in Section D from the first show in 93 to the last show. Ah, the days. ECW had the best fan base, by far.

  • @xCeRTiFiieDx Damn, never realized the others. Seriously. ECW was the best. I love watching old tapes of shows.

  • @bmoreravens12 Hell yea. Without ECW, wrestling would either be way less popular (due to no attitude era, which was created on ECW's influence) or completely different. They changed everything. I miss this company to death man.

  • @xCeRTiFiieDx It's to bad Paul was bad with the money. (Or at least that's what I heard) If they had a guy to deal with the money ECW would probably still be here. I fucking loved how they had awesome music for their themes. The actual songs, not some crappy remix.

  • @bmoreravens12 Definitely. Just like what they said on the Rise & Fall DVD, What made ECW huge is also what killed it. Paul never wanted ECW to be 'mainstream' or a 'million dollar organization', and thats what made it cool but in the long run when they needed money the most they were forced to go under. But, looking back we had a good run. What ECW did in 7 and a half years, no other company can do in 10, 20, or even 30 years. Thank God for the internet so we can relive these memories.

  • @bmoreravens12 Better than Kevin Nash's TNA entrance theme.

  • Best 0:56 of my life fuck that WWECW kid bullshit!!! this is the real E-C-DUBB!!!

  • ECW FTW!!!!!!

  • SportsChannel: Philadelphia Tuesdays at 11:00 pm

  • That motherfucker got destroyed at 0:24. The Eliminators were an amazing tag team.

  • Is that Sensational Sherri getting smacked with a cell phone @ 0:06?

  • @GreatGarloo Yup. Back then, Sherri was Shane Douglas's manager. Paul E. came up from behind and smashed her in the back of the head with the cellphone. Type in "Sensational Sherri in ECW". There are several videos up of her work in ECW.

  • Which Day Was It Used To Air

  • @MasterOfTimeForever Friday nights at 1 A.M on some local channel. You only got it if you were lucky lol

  • Whats the offical song?

  • Thunderkiss '65 by White Zombie

  • who ever wants this ECW BACK give me a "HELL YEA"

  • Nine Inch Nails and Rob Zombie? Nice Mix

  • Ah ECW. Real ECW. they weren't doing their jobs if you didn't see a table used in 75% of the matches that night. R.I.P. ECW

  • real ecw !

  • haha, Nine Inch Nails ftw!

  • Hardcore TV, that's what this was called. My friend had some of the VHS' of this. Sadly his VHS player died.

  • The REAL ECW, not that crap McMahon tried to spoon feed us, since he dominated the territories wrestling went in the sewer, the original Paul E era of ECW, NWA, World Class, AWA, Mid-South, and WWF of the mid-late 80's that's wrestling!

  • This is the true ECW

  • this is the original ECW theme. Not fucking bodies or any of the other shit fuckers have been putting up.

  • its nice to see what the opening really looks like, WWE Classics On Demand has a different song.

  • best opening 2 a tv show ever THAT WAS EXTREME...

  • I watch videos of Hardcore TV all the time and THIS is what you call a "Wrestling" show.

  • classic!!!!!

  • awesome!!!

  • fucking eh

this is when ECW was the shit

my dad used to order videos from RF Video in philadelphia

    shit was dope

  • I miss ECW. If Vince really wanted to, he could've brought back the real ECW. But NOOO, he had to screw it up instead! I'm just glad ECW can finally rest in peace, like it deserved to for a long time now!

  • @ 0:40 wats up wit that kid is he CRAZY!!

  • @airfulton

    sandman's son

  • omg this brings back childhood memories of when i used to watch this up in new jersey every saturday night at like 2 in the morning on ctn!

  • The chair throwing incident was just plain classic. Though Terry Funk sold it when he got hit with a chair while Cactus Jack didn't lol.

  • EC'FN'W

  • This is fucking ECW!! Never got enough of the good days. Fuck Vince

    R.I.P. ECW

  • first time i seen ecw was back in 1995 the oringinators that started this hardcore shit

  • ECW ECW !! MY GOD! That was magical.

  • finally i find the original ECW opening! people have posted the other opening and saying that was the original.

  • I was introduced to ECW my freshman year of college fall of 1995. One of the kids on my floor knew about it and got a bunch of us into it.

  • This really takes me back. I remember this intro from when ECW used to come on Sports Channel here in philly.

  • do you see sandman wow

  • ide laugh if tna made a invasion against wwe cuz right now TNA is practiaclly betetr betetr than wwe TNA is liek the 2000's version of WCW they haev all the good wrestlers and soon there gunna b the best

  • your right tna is way better than wwe

  • I remember when ECW was Extreme

    now WWE Fucked it up

  • Back in 1997 I loved ecw so much I desperately wanted a EC F'N W shirt. I was just a kid back then and didn't own a credit card so I sent em $60 in cash (from germany!) and asked them to send me two shirts. Waited for three months and nothing happened but they really sent me 2 shirts to germany. I still own them (one HARDCORE TOUR '97 SHIRT!) They were enthusiasts who really loved what they were doing. It was not about the money but about the passion for hardcore wrestling. EC F'N W R.I.P.

  • most likely that was tommy dreamer or dvon dudley that packed those shirts for you buddy!!!

  • I first heard of ECW on a episode of a show like Inside Edition that was aiming to warn parents about this program and the whole time I watched their report I was saying I HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS! So a week or two passed and coming home from work [2nd shift] I turned the TV an BAM I found just what I was looking for Hardcore Wrestling that was focused on action and not shenanigans. Damn shame the WWE bought the property and made a mockery of it. It was a great alternative that fans no longer have.

  • God these were the days, I was in the 7th grade and only a handful of guys in my town knew about ECW. It used to have syndicated shows around 1 or 2 am and we used to trip out, lol... Thanks for the memories Paul, it was a blast while it lasted.

  • ECW ND CZW

  • tommy dreamer left , making all the ecw origanals gone.

  • @MrBignerdguy Joey Style is still there

  • ECW the way I and all real wrestling fans remember it. Tuesday night's I'd rather watch paint dry to turn on Sci Fi.

  • This was real wrestling unlike the WWE entertainment related bullshit, no wonder all the ECW originals quit after Vince McMahon had his vision put on ECW, can't blame them, and what really pisses me off is the fact that they totally shut out the rules of the old ECW, and they make Dreamer lose everytime he appears, God Vince McMahon needs to be beaten till his last breath, I miss and love the old ECW

  • I never thought I would hear Nine Inch Nails while watching something ECW related. Epic.

  • Actually this is Whie Zombie.

  • wow,i was 1 at the time and i was watching the WWF.

  • I was lucky enough to be of the right age and in the right area when this started. From Tri-State forward those days were great!!!!!!

  • Ive actually been to an ecw event back when it was fucking awesome

  • i just got every episode of ecw on dvd 8 years of extreme to watch

  • I remember also at 2AM on MSG chanting ECW ECW ECW ECW nothing like it the good ol days of "Professional Wrestling" not todays "Sports Entertainment"

  • MEMORIES! I remember finding it for the first time at 2am and my mind was blown. I rememebr the match was whipwreck and sandman with not 1 but 2!!!!!!! HUGE LADDERS! The next morning when I met my friends, one of them is loving hogans ass and when I told them about this... they were stunned. .. why do things suck today..

  • i used to stay up till 2am on friday nights when i was in high school to watch these lunatics on MSG

  • i wish i was old enough to watch them back in the day..... :( now i have to go on ebay and find their old events and pay-per-views on dvd and sometimes even VHS!

  • EC-DUB! EC-DUB! EC-DUB!

  • EC FUCKING W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They used the music for this at ONS 05 when all the locker room came out post Dudleyz vs Dreamer/Sandman to confront the WWE crusaders.

  • LOL wow this takes me way back. I was an ECW fan way before anyone else I knew, I found it one day on accident back in either 95 or 96 and I was blown away at what I saw. I was such a big wrestling fan then, I can't stand it now :(

  • At 0:44 that was crazy!!!!!!

  • The good old days. Wrestling is not what it used to be.

  • i forgot to mention it was on saturday nights

  • Midnight then 1am and then 2 am channel 65 or channel 5 on cable El Paso, TX i never missed it i taped it once and i still have the tape somewhere it was where John Kronos and New Jack win the Tag titles from the Dudleys

  • It'll never happen again. This was special.

Hardcore TV was the ONLY wrestling show I planned my weeks around.

  • what was the oringal ecw rated ma pg 14 someone tell me

  • dude this is ecw, where it was uncensored, and unscripted,it was so extreme that u have to wake up at 1 am in da morning 2 see it.look at more ecw vids 2 get ur answer

  • This is ECW. EXTREME CHAMPINSHIP WRESTLING. I rememba watchin' back in 98 when I lived in Philly and I still miss the original 2 this day. Fuck Vince and fuck that "WWECW" shit.

  • @jpthug4lyf

yeah!!! people think that WWECW is the real ECW.

FUCK!!! WWE wants to be the only Wrestling in whole the F´N World

  • @jpthug4lyf

There will never be a EC FN W like this!

  • The Eliminator's Total Elimination finisher in this video is one of the most brutal looking tag team moves I have ever seen. I miss this shit so bad!

  • ECW ECW ECW !!!!

  • WHITE ZOMBIE ROKZZZZZZZZZ

  • this was used when austin calls the ecw originals on one night stand.

  • Now this is ECW!! Not that bullsh*t that McMahon whores out on sci-fi!!

  • Yes!!! Shane Douglas, The Eliminators, Francine were just a few big names in ECW. Now Vince wants us to settle with DJ Gabriel???

  • For those of you who don't remeber this intro or the ones before it, you have no idea what ECW was all about. ALL HAIL THE FRANCHISE Shain Douglas!

  • how i remember back in 96, 97 i was 13 years old and i would would stay up watching msg network to watch this show........ahhh nostalga

  • same here but i was 5 years old :)))))))))

  • I miss this ECW. Anyone who lived in the area remembers the true ECW. Even Heyman's ECW towards the end - 99 - 2001 wasn't as good as ECW was in 96-98

  • who is it doin the death valley driver in the video? it looks a little like bubba ray but i cant really tell

  • The late, great Louie Spicolli

  • Louie Spicolli...RIP

  • if jack swagger finlay or christian even try to do that theyd break a bone in 1 jump even though i think christian is preety cool

  • i was there for the born to be wired match with sabu and terrry funk.. the best shit i have ever seen. worth the $10 at ecw arena

  • Sabu tore his bicep up bad in that match to

  • What was everyone's 1st ECW show you watched?

Mine was June 1996 when they did the Sandman/Raven angle where Sandman's son comes out and says he worships Raven....preceded by Dreamer & Pitbulls vs Brian Lee & Bruise Bros match

  • I caught the first episode of 'Extreme' Championship Wrestling on the Sunshine Network in Florida. I'd read about it in Apter mags but one Saturday night/Sunday morning at like 0130, I surfed through and found the Douglas-Scorpio NWA title final in progress, then watched Douglas totally bury the NWA. As if I didn't already want to watch it- now I was HOOKED, and never missed an show unless Sunshine preempted it [fairly often, dammit].

  • my first ecw was when they invaded raw in 1997 before the ppv. then saw barely legal , after that i was hooked. im out here in california so we never heard of it until they invaded raw.

  • Wow you was sheltered. lol - joking. I live in Central PA and a group of us from work ( 7 ) use to go and see them once a month. Was AWSOME. todays WWECW is a fucking joke.

  • mines was tommy dreamer vs the sandman in 1993 when dreamer lost,he had to ge hit 10 times with the kendo stick/lol

  • after reading in the apter mags for a few months about this thing called ecw i ordered a catalog. few weeks later i ordered the double tables video. chris benoit MURDERED al snow on that show

  • no pun intended right?

  • whoops! i did'nt even realize that

  • lol.

  • fuck that watered down wwe bullshit this is the real deal

  • wow 0:13

  • As a Freshman in college a kid on my floor got me into ECW. Luckily I went to school on Scranton PA so I saw a show there and in Clarks Summit. Never took a trip the bingo hall in Philly and am kicking myself for not going when I had the chance.

  • its so nice to see this again

  • what song is this

  • White Zombie - Thunderkiss '65

  • I`ve always watched ECW,I fuckin love it!...Well I love it for what it used to be,well done vince mcmahon...Not only did he ruin ECW but he also brought an end to the attitude era,Now,I`ve turned to TNA,It`s really good, there`s loadsa stars from Real ECW and the Attitude era,and the wrestling is great, they also dont go overboard with the storylines..although it might be good,it will never compare to the golden days of ECW

    FUCK VINCE MCMAHON!!

    EC

    F`N

    W

  • The real original ECW.

Just like the shirts they used to wear.

    EC

    FN'

    W

  • ECW!ECW!ECW!ECW!

  • i think this is the second one, the first one had big dick dudley on there

  • Dammit, THIS is the ONLY ECW. I cannot bear to watch ANY so-called wrestling today. Since Vince got his hands on it all it has turned to shit (that or I just grew up, but I'd hate to think THAT happened). God I miss it all: The Samoan Gangsta Party, The "Head Cheerleader" herself, "Total Elimination", heading to that hell hole on W. Ritner and Swanson in Philly or the Elks Lodge on Queens Blvd in my neighborhood, chanting "You fucked up!!". If you never got to live it, you missed out!

  • Anyone have the video where BWO cuts in the middle of it and have their own opening? I liked that version of their theme better then the one posted here often.

  • ROB ZOMBIE SUCKS!!!!

  • hey bud this is White Zombie big difference from Rob and his older band. And how does he suck?

  • hey leave him alone, not our fault he loves MCR and emo music

  • ECW join the revolution.... classic... sadly, the revolution is dead, so is ECW.

  • i h8 how they fuckin changed it for wwe 24/7, plus all the wrestlers music that they changed too. and its soo fuckin obvious when they edit out music.

  • Yeah I like new jack's replaced theme though

I'd gladly pay extra on 24.7 if they'd put the music back in

  • I use to love the intros for the original shows..man I can remember sitting up till 12 midnight just to watch em on WPTT in pittsburgh every friday night, and the opening before thunder kiss 65 was nine inch nails I wanna fuck you like an animal! classic never to be seen again...thanks to all the assholes who bitched we were "stealing" all there music, nowadays a promoter would have to pay through the nose to play awesome music like this on there shows!

  • Man this a great opening video, gets me pumped and makes me miss ECW even more.

If you never saw the old ECW you don't know what you missed and can't possibly have the appreciation for it that others that do remember it have.

I don't think there will ever be another promotion quite like ECW but it is nice to see this video and bring back fond memories of how great it was.

  • Well said, we used to destroy the dorm in college when this came on

  • "Man this a great opening video, gets me pumped and makes me miss ECW even more."

    I know the feeling. :(

I'll never forget how cheesy--- and yet still awesome--- Joey Styles sounded when he talked about Shane Douglas "BREAKING THE NECK" (dramatic pause) "OF Pitbull #1." (pause again)

  • I like the ones before this too, but this has to be my favorite

  • That bass riff is bitchin'. WOW!

  • its thunder kiss 65 by white zombie ;D

  • This one and the one right before were the best openings in wrestling, right next to the "NWA World Championship Wrestling" open with the earth and streaking stars. ECW unfortunately jumped the shark not long after they became too mainstream to use real songs like they do here.

  • Not true. ECW always used real songs, they just had an inhouse theme produced.

  • Well, yeah, that's what I meant. Tey had an inhouse theme made because licensing "Thunderkiss '65" for an opening for a nationwide show would cost too much. For me, the early, rough-edged shows were better, because ECW was still more "underground" and not trying to have WWE-like production values to please TNN.

  • No, I don't think licensing was the issue. They were using the inhouse theme to open their pay-per-views as early as '97. They also used plenty of actual music throughout the TNN show. How much more would "Thunderkiss '65" cost to license than "El Phantasmo and the Chicken..." which they DID use in almost every show? I don't think they tried to have WWE production values either.

  • Probably a bit more, as "Thunderkiss" is the biggest hit Zombie had. And it is a documented fact that, to please first syndicators and later TNN, ECW had to spend more and more $ on production values. But that's beside my point: that I liked the show better when it looked like it was edited on a 4-year-old Mac with some dude's personal CD collection as the soundtrack. The rough edges emphasized their outlaw status compared to WWF/WCW, edges smoothed a great deal by more generic in-house music.

  • EC FUCKING W!!

    THIS IS EXTREME!!!!

  • Dude...These were the best times of EC fuckin W! 1996-2001!

  • that wasn't a chick it was stevie richards

  • That was Dancing Stevie Richards.

  • ....in that case, he deserved that clunk on the head.

  • EC

    FN

    W

  • EC Muthafuckin' W!

  • I always loved the ECW intro. Taz's suplex at 0:34 is one of the nastiest ever.

  • I remember the first time I saw ECW, it was Sandman and two other guys in a 3 way dance and the fans was going just beserk chanting ECW ECW ECW!! I was thinking, what the holy fuck is this?! I was hooked ever since.

  • It's sad the song they use on 24/7 sounds NOTHING like Thunderkiss 65

  • hell yeah, this is the one! i too could only watch this in the mid-90s at around 3am. but i only got to watch a couple before the channel took it off air :( i ordered vhs tapes afterward though. i know the wrestlers have to miss all the good times in ecw.

  • ECW!ECW!ECW!ECW!ECW!ECW!ECW!

    ECDub! ECDub! ECDub! ECDub! ECDub!

  • I got everything all of ECW from 96 and I still love to watch the intro everytime!!!!

  • Good use of Nine Inch Nails and White Zombie.

    Awesome vid.

  • At 0.25 was that tommy dreamer
