i could only imagine out awesome it would be to rip around on a sand dune rather than a set trail in the woods where you cant really go anywhere you want
intendevo che avere 1 deserto nel proprio paese non e' mica 1 bella cosa... perche' e' 1 zona inutile....non serve quasi a niente tranne che fare queste cose ed i test nucleari....che non sono il massimo neanche quello :)
what year cr 500 is this??? and did you just not use first gear or is it missing??? my friends 2001 raptor 660 ate up stock gears idk why so after the second time of getting the transmission redone he got beefed up aftermarket ones
2 strokes are very easy to put around on my cr125 and my rm80 dont foul plugs at all its alot to do with jetting i run 40:1 because i trail ride alot but if im going to the track 36:1 is a better option because im running it harder
You're the fucking gay faggot nuLLcss. Motocross will never be the same again until they bring 2 strokes back. Learn how to ride before you open your mouth bitch.
Not sure about the dude that said you need a small paddle in worries of burning a motor!!! After years of doing Silver lake, I landed on a deep 10 paddle for my 91 CR500. I also go with long sprockets as the Sand drags on the beach require massive top end...
The dude got it twisted, a smaller paddle tire with a smaller cc bike is more logical so the engine doesnt have to work as hard and vice versa. I run a 10 cup with my 91 as well in glamis and havent had a problem yet.
Never been on sand, rode quads for about 15 years now, and I just recently bought a crf 450x. All the riding I've done has been woods riding, dirt, loose dirt, rocks, mud and so on. I'd like to take a trip to here though... any recommendations?
Paddles hook up much better, but don't lean like a knob, and they are not absolutely necessary if you are already set up for riding trails in MI. I run the same knob at SL that I use on trails, usually a Michelin S12 or Kenda Southwick rear, Michelin S12 front. Run your pressures as low as you dare.
I've seen everything from an 80cc all the way up, my wife runs a YZ125 with a paddle at Gordons Well. Just make sure your jetting is spot on, running sand involves a lot of high revs and it is easy to melt a hole in the top of your piston!
you need to give up on the two wheel stuff at silver and build yourself a single seater buggy with a busa motor that is what i just finished for next summer to play with:) hell yeah, i rode a crf450 for the last 3 years and it was fun but alot of work.
You must never ride the sand, I have a CR500 with an 8 scoop paddle JUST for running in the dunes, my fav is Gordons Well CA, Pismo Beach CA and Great Sand Dunes NP CO. I also love the cinder pits at Sunset Crater Volcano in Flagstaff AZ and 2 stroke 500cc power is the only way to have fun!
I cant believe How cool the CR 500 is. I want one more than ever now! and I will never completely understand how you can ride that easy on sand! i cant worth beans!
cant wait to bring my bike there next summer :)

i agree though. two strokes are gay, and the only time you really eat shit is in sand because your front tire gets stuck in other people's tracks

First gear is relatively useless... if the sand is anywhere similar to Glamis - pick up a paddle tire. And steer with the rear.

You would make it fine, but it would feel slow. Sand "robs horsepower" in a way. Most of your power goes to wheel spin.
StoopidSmith323 4 years ago
you need to give up on the two wheel stuff at silver and build yourself a single seater buggy with a busa motor that is what i just finished for next summer to play with:) hell yeah, i rode a crf450 for the last 3 years and it was fun but alot of work.

crrider08 4 years ago
o yeah with a 250f you could go with your dirt tire it be a lot of work but it'll go
gogreen07f5 4 years ago
no offense but a 250f isn't shit compaired to a 500 2 stroke-
when you get in sand you'll really need the extra power to keep the front end stable
riding in sand is different mo matter what bike you have but the more power it seems the better when it comes to sand
